After last night’s closing stages it’s hard to imagine how this day might top it. But the chances are that it will.

At stake today is a place at the final table of the PAGCOR Chairman’s Cup, but along the way everyone will be paid. Some 430 players came to Manila to win this event, these last 52 will at least go home with something to show for three long days at the tables. And that can mean a lot.

Play starts at 12.30pm. Right now, as players begin to arrive, the dealers are getting their briefing from tournament director Danny McDonagh and the bags of chips are laying in wait on the tables. Those last eight minutes of level 15 yesterday are up on the clock. We’re ready.
