Wednesday was a full day in the poker room as the Main Event Day 1A played alongside the final day of the High Roller. Today it’s all about Day 1B of the Main Event and the fullness will come from a (hoped) sellout crown. The flight has a hard cap of 200 players and 181 of those seats were accounted for last night, so – by the time registration closes at the beginning of Level 7 – those few remaining seats should have gone.
This is the last starting flights where players can enjoy full 40-minute levels. Day 1C will commence at 1pm on Friday with 30-minute levels, and then there’s a Day 1D re-entry flight scheduled for 8pm, also tomorrow, with 20-minute levels. It’s a re-entry flight so only open to those who have played and busted one of the first three flights.
Team PokerStars’ Marcin Horecki and Felix Schneiders are scheduled to play Day 1C but there are still some familiar faces in a field dominated by German players. Mick Graydon has travelled all the way from Ireland; Kim De Han, Martin Wendt and Jamila von Perger all final tabled the High Roller last night and are back hoping for continued form; and WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Apmann is joined by fellow Germans Hanno Offen, Jay Tse, Alexander Popp and Walid Abdi-Ali.
For a bit of inspiration for today’s players, these are the top ten stacks from Day 1A:
Name | Chips |
---|---|
Rudolf Köster | 258,000 |
Michael Ratkowski | 189,400 |
Francois Mittertreiner | 188,900 |
Oliver Niemann | 185,500 |
Kyriakos Mitsopoulos | 176,800 |
Levan Rcheulishvili | 168,100 |
Anders Bisgard | 155,500 |
Miroslav Malic | 155,400 |
Igor Rybak | 130,700 |
