Turning $100 into $20,000 over the course of three months is impressive (see Andre ‘acoimbra’ Coimbra’s charity attempt of reaching $100,000 in a year) but $11 into $107,874.08 in one tournament? That’s just insane.

Last night Brazilian low stakes player ‘ynarrol’ topped a guarantee-beating field of 109,990 players in the second anniversary Sunday Storm to win $107,874.08 – a spin-up of enormous proportions thanks to one 12-hour tournament. ‘MotkeKirlas’ from Lithuania took second spot for $66,015.99. It’s potentially life-changing money for both of them thanks to the tiny $11 buy-in. These were just two of the many big payouts from the weekend’s key tournaments, results of which you can look at by clicking here.

Another amazing weekend at PokerStars

  • Other big winners included Finnish player ‘VanDobeln’ who won $245,193.87 in the Sunday Million and Germany’s ‘cmontopdeck’ who collected $109,712.77 in the Sunday Warm-Up. Jordan ‘JWPRODIGY’ Westmorland collected 3rd for $57,651.00.

  • Dutchman Daniel Boender won ESPT Valenica for €104,550 beating Iberian hopes as he held fast against a final table consisting of six Spaniards and one Portuguese.

  • We took a look at Sami ‘lrslzk’ Kelopuro’s final table from last weekend to see how one of the original Finnish wunderkind’s can still tear the opposition to bits. Summary: he smashes the table up but then gets unlucky in a huge pot after making his opponent’s head explode.

  • All week long members of PokerStars Team Online were competing in some one-upmanship over who had the ‘sickest set-up’. Kevin “WizardOfAhhs” Thurman, André ‘acoimbra’ Coimbra, Adrienne ‘talonchick’ Rowsome, Tyler ‘frosty012’ Frost and Grzegorz ‘DaWarsaw’ Mikielewicz all got involved.

  • Team PokerStars Pro Dario Minieri had other matters on his mind as he put his foot down towards Supernova Elite status in Italy. Read about that here.
