Let’s just call this what it is: this was a weekend where the live poker world overshadowed the online affairs. It’s a fact of poker life. Sometimes the news crawls out from the online ether and animates itself in real people. This weekend, the news was almost all Vanessa Selbst.
Early this morning, Selbst became the first Team PokerStars Pro to win a 2012 WSOP bracelet. It was her second career bracelet and moved her to the top of Team Pro for 2012 WSOP earnings.
Meanwhile, some other big dogs from Team Pro sat down for the Big One for One Drop, the $1 million buy-in charity event that guarantees more than $18 million for first place. Of the five Team Pros who entered, only Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu made it through the day.
While those stories played out, the PokerStars weekend majors continued to change bankrolls and lives. Here are the other big stories from the online world.

Good luck to everyone in the coming week.
