Home / Uncategorized / SCOOP 2014: Roma-Tilt remains standing in Event #19-M ($215 NLHE 6-Max Shootout)

Early this morning, Roma-Tilt sat at a table with five opponents and beat them all.

Our Russian champion had to repeat that feat another three times to take the title and $45,793.44. Each time, Roma-Tilt was faced with more seasoned opponents who survived a shootout or two of their own.

The final table featured the only six players who survived three tables and included Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen. These six were all that remained from the 1,431 players who signed up for the event.

All those players picthing in $215 a-piece created a prize pool of $286,200.00 that only 216 players were able to take a piece of. While they cashed for $469.36, winning another three tables would’ve netted them the grand prize and the SCOOP watch.

But that title could only go to one person, and today it went to Roma-Tilt.

The final table

Seat 1: vovtroy – 5,000
Seat 2: Pantkvittot – 5,000
Seat 3: BUD888 – 5,000
Seat 4: koh1990 – 5,000
Seat 5: Roma-Tilt – 5,000
Seat 6: angelguillen – 5,000

Players were just settling in when we had our first elimination.

On the third hand of the final table, with blinds still at 25/50, koh1990 raised to 125 from under-the-gun. Team PokerStars Pro Angel “angelguillen” Guillen called from the cutoff while Pantkivttot and BUDA888 did the same from the small and big blind.

The flop came 9♠ 2♣ 5♠ and koh1990 bet 240 when checked to. Guillen called and Pantkvittot raised to 895. BUDA888 folded, koh1990 re-raised to 1,825 and Guillen got out of the way.

Pantkvittot moved all-in for 4,900 and koh1990 quickly called. Both players then showed a set.

koh1990 had 2♦ 2♠ while Pantkvittot was sitting on 5♦ 5♥ .

It was a tough beat for koh1990 when the Q♠ came on the turn and a 7♥ completed the board. koh1990 was out in 6th and took home $7,097.75 while Pantkvittot took an early lead with 10,515.

Wall

The quick elimination wouldn’t be indicative of how the whole final table would play out. After koh1990’s eliminations it was more than an hour before the final table would shrink again.

During that that time, Pantkvittot started amassing an even bigger lead.

Blinds were up to 30/60 and vovtroy raised to 120 from the cutoff. Pantkvittot called from the button and BUDA888 and Roma-Tilt did the same from the blinds. The flop came A♣ 9♥ 7♦ and action folded to vovtroy, who bet 240.

Pantkvittot called, the blinds folded and a 3â™  came on the turn. vovtroy checked and Pantkvittot bet 705. vovtroy called and a Jâ™  completed the board.

Pantkvittot bet 1,685 when checked to and vovtroy folded.

By the time we had our next all-in situation, Pantkvittot was past the 15,000 mark.

Too cool

With 50/100 blinds, vovtroy raised to 200 from the cutoff and BUDA888 called from the small blind. Roma-Tilt did the same from the big blind and the flop came A♠ 4♣ 8♣ . vovtroy bet 300, BUDA888 folded and Roma-Tilt called, bringing a 10♣ on the turn.

vovtroy bet 400 and Roma-Tilt moved all-in for 1,882. vovtroy called and showed the nut flush with A♣ 3♣ to Roma-Tilt’s two pair, A♦ 10♥ .

Then an A♥ came on the river to give Roma-Tilt the full house and the victory. Roma-Tilt doubled up to 5,014 while vovtroy became the short stack with 1,478.

Then we lost another player.

Three hands after, BUDA888 raised to 300 and Roma-Tilt re-raised to 744 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to BUDA888, who four-bet all-in to 2,008. Roma-Tilt called and a flip ensued.

BUDA888: A♦ K♥
Roma-Tilt: 10♣ 10♠

The board ran 8♣ 9♦ Q♥ 8♦ 3♠ and BUDA888 won $11,558.00 for finishing 5th. Roma-Tilt on the other hand chipped up to 7,142.

More for Roma-Tilt

Roma-Tilt had the taste for blood and his guns were cocked.

vovtroy got a quick double up with 9♣ 9♥ to Pantkvittot’s A♦ 2â™  two hands after BUDA888’s elimination but then vovtroy fell a few minutes later.

With 60/120 blinds, Roma-Tilt raised to 252 from the button. vovtroy re-raised all-in for 1,241 from the big blind and Roma-Tilt called. vovtroy showed K♣ 10♦ and was up against Roma-Tilt’s A♥ 8♦ .

Roma-Tilt was in the lead and the J♥ 3♥ 8♥ 3♠ 3♦ board made it final.
vovtroy became our 4th place finisher and took home $17,172.00 while Roma-Tilt chipped up to 8,468.

Fallen Angel

Our last Team PokerStars Pro won three shootout tables but now found himself as the short stack with three players to go.

Pantkvittot – 15,292
Roma-Tilt – 8,468
angelguillen – 6,240

Guillen wasn’t too far behind but lost a large part of his stack in a few key hands:

After that, Guillen dipped to 3,602 before his tournament came to an abrupt halt. Roma-Tilt raised to 240 from the button and Guillen moved all-in from the small blind. Pantkvittot folded from the big blind and Roma-Tilt called.

angelguillen: 3♥ 3♦
Roma-Tilt: A♦ K♥

It was a flip that fell heavily in Roma-Tilt’s favor after the board came A♥ 8♣ 4â™  A♣ 10♦ . Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen was out in 3rd and got a $25,788.00 payday while the tournament went heads-up.

Heads up

Pantkvittot – 18,762
Roma-Tilt – 11,238

Pantkvittot had the chip lead for the entirety of the final table, but busted aces would put an end to that.

With 100/200 blinds, Roma-Tilt raised to 400 and Pantkvittot re-raised to 1,060. Roma-Tilt called and the flop came 2♣ 9♦ 3♦ . Pantkvittot bet 950 and a K♥ came on the turn.

Pantkvittot upped the bet to 2,320 and Roma-Tilt called again. A 7â™  completed the board and Pantkvittot bet 3,200. Roma-Tilt came over the top and moved all-in for 7,170 and Pantkvittot called.

Pantkvittot showed pocket aces while Roma-Tilt tabled 7♣ 7♥ for a rivered set.

Roma-Tilt took a massive lead with 23,050 while Pantkvittot was down to just 6,950. Pantkvittot fought back and managed to momentarily grab the lead back a few times but the magic was gone.

It was in the cards for Roma-Tilt and the Russian dealt the final blow with the muck-two knockout:

Roma-Tilt raised to 14,500 the following hand and Pantkvittot called all-in. Pantkvittot’s final hand was A♣ 7â™  and Pantkvittot was flipping against Roma-Tilt’s 2♣ 2♦ .

The flop came Q♣ 6♦ 7♦ to put Pantkvittot in the lead, but then a Q♥ came on the turn and the river was a brutal 2♥ . Roma-Tilt hit a full house and won the tournament.

Pantkvittot won $34.344.00 for finishing second while Roma-Tilt became our newest SCOOP champion. For the victory, Roma-Tilt took home $45,93.44 and the SCOOP watch.
