Going into the 6-Max limit hold’em final table, Norway’s erikhangaard seemed destined to win SCOOP Event #31-L. Big-stacked erikhangaard held a commanding lead with six to go. Once it got heads-up, Rickiyo trimmed the margin. The two swapped the lead too many times to count during a whirlwind, frenetic heads-up battle. Whenever one player attempted to pull away, the other launched a successful blitzkrieg attack to even the count. A persistent and relentless erikhangaard never backed down. When he finally got Rickiyo on the ropes, erikhangaard did not waste the precious opportunity and delivered a crushing blow. Rickiyo bowed out in second place and erikhangaard emerged as the victor.

2015 SCOOP Event #31-L $27 Limit Hold’em (6-Max) attracted 1,459 old-school LHE players. They created a prize pool worth $35,818.45. The top 192 places paid out with $5,910.97 set aside for the champ.

Shaun Deeb was last in chips with 18 to go. He eventually busted in 15th place. With 12 to go on the final two tables, CoLa7687 (Germany) held the lead with 1.1M. With action hand-for-hand with seven to go, PelonCabelao bubbled off the final table in seventh place when 7♦ 7♥ lost to Dayeface’s 6♥ 5♥ . Dayeface flopped a pair of sixes and turned two pair to win the pot and advance to the final table.

The final table commenced during Level 25 with stakes at 12K/24K. Norway’s erikhangaard held the lead with 2.6M. Meanwhile, rbrtioh was the shorty with 116K.

We saw a bustout on the first hand at the final table…. rbrtioh opened to 60,000, erikhangaard called from the small blind, badlad three-bet to 90,000, rbrtioh called and erikhangaard called. Three-way. The flop was Q♥ 4â™  2♦ . erikhangaard checked, badlad fired out 30,000, rbrtioh called all-in for 26,332, and erikhangaard called. The turn was the 3♦ . erikhangaard check-folded to a 60,000 bet from badlad. Heads-up.

The river was the J♣ . rbrtioh turned a flush draw, but only rivered a pair of Jacks. Alas, badlad’s pocket Aces held up. The U.K.’s rbrtioh became the first player to exit the final table. Sixth place paid out $974.26.

CoLa7687 eliminated in 5th place

CoLa7687 and erikhangaard rumbled. Betting was capped preflop at 200,000. The flop was K♥ J♦ 2♣ . erikhangaard bet 50,000 and CoLa7687 called. The turn was the 8♥ . erikhangaard fired out 100,000 and CoLa7687 called. The river was the 6♦ . Betting was capped when CoLa7687 shoved for 337,312. At showdown it was set over set. erikhangaard’s set of Kings with K♣ K♦ defeated CoLa7687’s set of Jacks and J♣ J♥ . Denmark’s CoLa7687 was dunzo in fifth place, which paid out $1,468.55.

Four-handed didn’t last very long… badlad opened to 100,000 and Dayeface called. The flop was 9♣ 7♣ 7â™  . badlad fired out 50,000, Dayeface raised to 100,000, and badlad called. The K♦ on the turn induced action. badlad checked, Dayeface bet 100,000, and badlad called all-in for 92,285.

Dayeface was ahead with a better two pair and a King-high flush draw. The river was the 4♦ . Dayeface won the hand with Kings and sevens against badlad’s sevens and fives. Ireland’s badlad busted in fourth place, which paid out $2,292.38.

With three to go, erikhangaard held almost 6M. Meanwhile, Dayeface held 725K and Rickiyo was last with 611K.

Dayeface eliminated in 3rd place

Short-stacked Dayeface made a final stand but got run down by the big stack. erikhangaard opened to 160,000, Dayeface raised all-in for 165,549 with A♣ 2♣ , and erikhangaard called with 9♥ 6♥ . Dayeface was ahead but the board ran out Q♣ 10♣ 3♥ 8♠ 6♦ and erikhangaard rivered a pair of sixes to win the pot. Dayeface flopped a flush draw, but whiffed on the river. Dayeface was knocked out in third place, which paid out $3,313.20.

With two to go, Norway’s erikhangaard held a 2-1 edge. However, the two traded the lead back and forth and back and forth. Whenever someone attempted to pull away, the other would even it right up. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Early into heads-up, Rickiyo won a pair of 1.7M pots including trip Aces with A♣ K♣ . The first one got Rickiyo even, but the second one gave Rickiyo the lead. erikhangaard regained the lead after rivering a full house in a 3.2M pot. Rickiyo re-snagged the lead with K♥ K♦ , only to give it right back.

After 30 minutes of heads-up ping pong, erikhangaard crippled Rickiyo in a 3.8M pot when both players held a straight. The board read Q♣ Jâ™  9♥ 8â™  Aâ™  . Rickiyo lost with J♣ 10â™  and a Queen-high straight versus erikhangaard’s K♦ 10♦ and Broadway straight. erikhangaard chipped up to over 6M. 11 hands later… it was all over.

Rickiyo eliminated in 2nd place; erikhangaard wins SCOOP Event #31-L!

Rickiyo was down to 939K going into the final hand. Rickiyo 3-bet pre-flop to 360,000 and erikhangaard called. The flop was J♦ 10♣ 6♦ and betting was capped at 480,000. The turn was the K♠ . Rickiyo moved all-in for 99,568 and erikhangaard called.

Rickiyo turned a pair of Kings to take the lead versus erikhangaard’s flopped pair of Jacks. The 5♣ fell on the river, which gave erikhangaard Jackson Fives! erikhangaard won with two pair against Rickiyo’s pair of Kings. Canada’s Rickiyo was knocked out in second place. For a runner-up finish, Rickiyo took home $4,441.48.

Congrats to Norway’s erikhangaard for shipping Event #31-L. First place paid out $5,910.97 in addition to a Movado champion’s watch.
