It was an exciting sweat Tuesday evening as Calvin “cal42688” Anderson was at the final table of SCOOP-07-M: $82+R NL Hold’em seeking to extend his SCOOP record by winning his seventh title. Unfortunately for him, that didn’t happen as Germany’s “nimuuuh” emerged victorious to capture his first SCOOP title and a $59,829.89 first-place prize.

The two-day tournament smashed its $100,000 guarantee by attracted 1,810 entries that accounted for 1,591 rebuys and 1,503 add-ons. That brought the total prize pool up to $373,930, which was distributed to the top 234 players. Among those to claim a portion on Day 1 were Grzegorz “DaWarsaw” Mikielewicz (217th – $373.93), Mike “SirWatts” Watson (196th – $411.32), and Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah (134th – $523.50), just to name a few.

Day 1 finished with just 53 players remaining with “nimuuuh” and his stack of 1,433,355 leading the way. The only other players over the million mark were “yenomrtgllwi” and David “MissOracle” Yan with 1,068,978 and 1,047,406 respectively.

When returned to action on Tuesday, the eliminations came fast and furious. Among those to cash on Day 2 were Robert “Little Kraut” Deppe (34th – $1,233.96), Jakub “Olli444” Oliva (29th – $1,233.96), and Ryan “g0lfa” D’Angelo (14th – $2,299.66.

Calvin “cal42688” Anderson’s Shot at 7th SCOOP Title Comes to an End

While Anderson began the final table in decent chip position, he was crippled early after losing a big flip. It happened with the blinds at 40,000/80,000/10,000 when “Mejwon” opened for 160,000 from middle position and Anderson moved all in for 1,845,159 from the hijack. Action folded back to Mejwon, who called off for 1,626,968.

Mejwon: 9♥ 9♠
Anderson: A♥ K♠

Anderson needed to improve, but that was easier said than done as the board ran out an unhelpful Q♦ 8♣ 2♠ J♥ 2♦ .

Anderson was left wit h just 218,191 after the hand, and that dwindled a bit when he finally got it all in. It happened when “PULGUITO” raised to 168,000 from the cutoff, Mejwon called from the small blind, and Anderson called from the big, leaving himself just 191 back.

The 8♥ J♠ K♦ flop saw Anderson bet all in, and both his opponents called before checking the 10♦ turn. When the Q♦ completed the board on the river, Mejwon bet 215,050 and PULGUITO called with the A♥ 3♥ . Mejwon tabled the A♣ 8♣ for the same hand, and Anderson simply mucked before taking his leave in ninth place for $3,739.30.

Mejwon Runs Queens Into Kings to Bust in Eighth

With the blinds at 80,000/160,000/20,000, nimuuuh opened for 344,000 under the gun and Mejwon, who was next to act, three-bet all in for 2,781,032. Action folded back to nimuuuh, who called with the K♣ K♥ , and it held against Mejwon’s Q♣ Q♦ after the board ran out 4♦ 9♣ 2♦ 8♥ 7♦ . Mejwon took home $6,543.77 for his eighth-place finish.

luckyman147 Picks the Wrong Time to Shove

Not long after, Poland’s luckyman147 moved all in from the small blind for 2,999,590 and Pascal “Päffchen” Hartmann called from the big blind.

Hartmann: A♦ K♠

luckyman147 had a kicker problem, and it didn’t get resolved as the board ran out 8♥ 7♦ 10♥ J♦ 3♥ . luckyman147 hit the rail in seventh place and took home $10,096.11 for his performance.

nimuuuh Sends Yan to the Rail in Sixth

In the 100,000/200,000/25,000 level, David “MissOracle” Yan jammed the button for 2,286,438 holding the K♦ 2♦ and nimuuuh looked him up from the big blind with the A♦ 10♦ .

Yan paired up on the 2♣ 5♥ 10♣ , but so did nimuuuh. Neither the 5♣ turn nor 6♣ river help Yan, and he had to settle for sixth place and $13,835.41.

7tHEcROw7 Falls to nimuuuh in Fifth Place

In the same level, nimuuuh opened for 430,000 from the cutoff and then called after 7tHEcROw7 moved all in for 3,119,052 from the button.

7tHEcROw7: A♦ 9♠
nimuuuh: A♥ J♥

nimuuuh was well out in front, and that’s just where he stayed as the board ran out a dry 5♣ 10♦ 8♥ 2♦ 3♥ . 7tHEcROw7 won $17,761.67 for his fifth-place finish.

nimuuuh Scores Another Elimination; TurnBrick Falls in Fourth

Three hands later, TurnBrick moved all in under the gun for 2,907,833 holding the A♥ 3♣ and ran smack dab into the A♠ K♦ of nimuuuh. The board ran out a clean 9♦ 7♣ 8♦ 7♦ Q♣ and just like that nimuuuh scored another elimination and began to separate himself from the pack. TurnBrick was awarded $24,585.89 for finishing in fourth place.

PULGUITO Loses Flip to Finish Third

In the 120,000/240,000/30,000 level, PULGUITO limped from the small blind and nimuuuh exercised his option with a raise to 650,000. PULGUITO responded by moving all in for 5,004,648, and nimuuuh called.

PULGUITO: [ksqs]
nimuuuh: 10♠ 10♦

It was a flip, but nimuuuh held strong as the board ran out 2♦ 3♥ A♣ 5♥ 5♠ . With that, PULGUITO exited in third place for $33,653.70 and set up a heads-up match between nimuuuh and Hartmann, who held 21,230,966 and 7,046,534 respectively.

Hartmann Finishes as Runner-Up in Quick Heads-Up Match

A little later on in the same level, nimuuuh limped from the small blind and then called when Hartmann raised to 680,000. The 3♠ 4♣ 5♥ flop saw nimuuuh call a bet of 585,220, and then he called one of 1,352,665 on the Q♣ turn.

When the K♥ completed the board on the river, Hartmann (pictured below) moved all in for 3,978,649 and nimuuuh called. Hartmann showed the A♣ 8♣ for missed straight and flush draws, and nimuuuh took it down with the K♣ J♣ for a missed flush draw of his own that turned into a winning pair.
