On a day when much of the poker world’s attention shifted toward Las Vegas and the start of this summer’s World Series of Poker, the Super Tuesday at PokerStars managed to draw another big field of 559 entrants, the resulting $559,000 prize pool easily besting the $1,050 no-limit hold’em tournament’s $300K guarantee. They battled through the night, and when all was done Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski of Canada was the last one standing with all of the chips and a $106,210 first prize to show for his efforts. Sikorski outlasted a tough final table that included Sam “aaajack” Chartier, Johan “busto_soon” Van Til, and Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes.

It would take just over five-and-a-half hours for the money bubble to burst, and with 63 left Fernando “groww” Garcia, shmorti10, and Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski led the counts as the only players with more than 100,000 chips.

A little over two hours later they were down to 18 players gathered around the final two tables, with shmorti10 the new chip leader after having claimed the top spot for much of that stretch. Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski still sported a top stack as well, while Fernando “groww” Garcia had fallen in 25th ($3,354).

About an hour-and-a-half after that nine more would fall. JasonX85 (18th), bluet0m89 (17th), nzaczac06 (16th) each took away $4,472 for their finishes. Csaszko (15th), Ultraballs18 (14th), and Kevin “Civell” Vandersmissen (13th) made $5,590 apiece. shmorti10 then slipped to fall in 12th, followed by SwanRonson (11th) and Noah^R1 (10th), with those three each taking away $6,708 from the prize pool.

With Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski now leading, the final table was underway.

They played through the nine-hour break, then with the blinds at 4,000/8,000 it was Magardan raising to 18,000 from early position then getting a call from Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski in the small blind. Reimroc222 had only a little over 14,000 to start the hand and after posting the big blind and ante called all in with what was left.

The flop came 6♦ 8♥ 10♦ , and Sikorski check-folded to a bet of 28,500 from Magardan. Magardan then showed Aâ™  K♥ which was better than Reimroc222’s Q♦ 2♣ . The turn was the 4♥ and river the 5♣ , and Reimroc222 was out in ninth.

A short while later the blinds were 4,500/9,000 when sp2608 open-pushed all in for 48,794 from middle position and Sam “aaajack” Chartier called from a couple of seats over. sp2608 had A♥ 3♥ but Chartier had picked up A♣ A♦ , and after the community cards ran out J♥ Kâ™  9♦ 6â™  3â™  sp2608 was done in eighth.

They pushed on into the next level where the blinds were 5,000/10,000, and a hand arose in which TheFish77 open-raised to 22,500 from under the gun, then a short-stacked yargen called all in for just 2,442 from middle position. Johan “busto_soon” Van Til called as well from the button as did Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski from the big blind.

As yargen watched the other three checked down the 10♥ 6♠ Q♣ flop and 4♣ turn. The 10♦ then fell on the river and after it checked to Van Til he bet 17,000, Sikorski folded, and TheFish77 called. Van Til showed 8♣ 8♠ for eights and tens, TheFish77 mucked, then yargen mucked as well, the latter having been eliminated in seventh.

A little later it was Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes open-raising from UTG for 140,044 (a little over 11 big blinds), then Magardan reraise-pushed for 148,483 from the button and the others folded. It was 8♣ 8♥ for Combes, but Magardan had picked up A♦ Aâ™  this time, and after the 9♣ 9♦ 3â™  10♣ 5â™  runout Combes had fallen in sixth.

The remaining five would battle on for another half-hour, then with the blinds 8,000/16,000 Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski min-raised to 32,000 from the cutoff, Magardan called from the small blind, Sam “aaajack” Chartier reraised all in for 145,322 from the big blind, Sikorski folded, and Magardan called.

Magardan: K♣ J♥
aaajack: A♥ K♦

A jack was just what aaajack didn’t want to see, but the flop brought one, coming 4♦ Jâ™  9â™  . The turn was the Q♦ and river the 6â™  , and Chartier was knocked out in fifth.

Just a few minutes later a decisive hand occurred that began with Sikorski opening with a 2x raise to 32,000 from UTG and getting two callers in Magardan (small blind) and Johan “busto_soon” Van Til (big blind). All three checked the 10â™  6♣ 3♦ flop. The turn brought the 8♦ and a bet of 48,880 from Magardan, called by both Van Til and Sikorski.

The river was the J♥ . Magardan bet 165,250 this time, Van Til folded, then Sikorski reraise-shoved his leading stack and Magardan called with the 497,650 left behind. Magardan showed J♣ 10♥ for two pair, but Sikorski had Q♦ 9♦ for a straight to knock out Magardan and add considerably to his lead.

Soon Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski was up over 2.3 million while Johan “busto_soon” Van Till was down to just under 300,000 and TheFish777 with just over 120,000. Then with the blinds 9,000/18,000, Van Til open-raised all in for 297,010 from the small blind with 6♦ 6♥ and Sikorski called from a seat over the A♣ 8♦ .

The flop came A♦ 5â™  Jâ™  to pair Sikorski’s ace, and after the 4â™  turn and 3â™  river they were down to two.

Sebastian “p0cket00” Sikorski had 2,676,252 to begin heads-up play versus TheFish77’s 118,748 — a better than 22-to-1 chip advantage — and on just the third hand between them the end arrived.

After Sikorski opened with a min-raise to 36,000 from the button, TheFish77 pushed all in for 125,498 and p0cket00 called right away. TheFish77 had K♣ 3♦ and two live cards versus Sikorski’s A♣ Q♣ , but the board came 8♥ 7♥ J♣ 9♥ 5♣ and just over 10-and-a-half hours after it had begun, this week’s Super Tuesday had been won.
