Home / Uncategorized / Starting tomorrow: The PokerStars Championship Bahamas

It is the familiar story every January. Touch down in the Bahamas follows a long tiring flight. You step out of Lynden Pindling airport and into the heat – not Las Vegas heat, which singes your eyebrows and moves them an inch further up your forehead – but the humid kind, that can turn the typical middle aged man, looking to lose a few pounds, look like he had to walk through a swamp to get here.

You climb into a taxi, usually a minivan, which rattles along the new highway. No respectable garage would let it leave its forecourt and into the street once driven onto it – the likely reason it will never be driven on to one.

But all the while, despite the fatigue, your dishevelled appearance and that worrying wobble coming from the front left wheel, you’re among the happiest people on the island. Because you’re arriving at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, along with hundreds of others with the same thought in their head, that they’re about to take part in one of the biggest poker tournaments of the year.

Our part in that is not just that of the dishevelled men mentioned above. The PokerStars Blog team is already in place eagerly awaiting the start tomorrow, in this case the $100,000 Super High Roller. That’s followed a few days later by the first ever PokerStars Championship Main Event, and a host of other tournaments we’ll be keeping our eyes on.

You can follow all the action on the Blog, with PokerStars Championship details on homepage. Whether you’ve been to the Bahamas before, are here for your first time, or whether you’re watching back home with your finger pressing refresh every few minutes, we’ll have everything you need to make this a memorable start to the year.

It all starts tomorrow. Join us then.
