Throughout SCOOP 2021 we’ve been talking to some of the winners. Here’s what two of those winners had to say about their experience.
Gilles “SexualDrag0n” Lamy is a French player who has been playing poker for more than ten years. He won SCOOP 23-H $1,050 Stud Hi/Lo for $23,162 last week, a mixed game tournament that counts among his favourites.
“Always loved the mixed game so it’s very meaningful to me to earn my first SCOOP title in a not “no-limit” event. And obviously very happy to win a title on one of my first high SCOOP event.
“I don’t remember much of the tournament to be honest. I’ve been lucky enough to build a big stack from the beginning and almost never lost the chip lead. But it was a great experience to play against all these great mixed game players that are used to win these events since as far as I remember.
“I’m very grateful that PokerStars is still making space for these games, and I hope it will last.”
“If you post something about me put my picture… so in 50 years my grandchildren will think I was a cowboy playing poker.”
Romania player 19THEMACHINE83 was another winner in the first week, winning SCOOP 13-L $109 NLHE 8-Max for $60,787.
“I chose to play thanks to some teachings from a friend and I never thought of winning a tournament and even less of being able to win so much money.
“Right now my hands are still shaking and I still can’t believe it.
“I will definitely play again also because the field is great and the tournaments and structures are terrific.”
