Home / Uncategorized / Sunday Warm-Up: One time chip used successfully, -Plz1Tiiime- wins $71K after five-way deal

A PCA side event champ and a Sunday Warm-Up champ were both looking for another title in tonight’s $500,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up. But while the power of the “one time chip” proved to be too much for the 3,117 other entries, -Plz1Tiiime- would claim the title after a five-way chop, earning $71,949.85.

Heading towards the ninth hour of play with only three tables left, a familiar face was still lingering around hoping to add a Sunday Major title.

Sorel “zangbezan24” Mizzi already has a SCOOP title (2010 Event #32-H) to his credit and was looking for another sizable win tonight. However, he would become short-stacked in the 25K/50K ante 5K blind level, shoving in 322,220 chips over a min-raise by the TheDegenFund and a call by Grazza.

The min-raise from TheDegenFund turned into a re-shove for 1.04 million which Grazza let go, while TheDegenFund turned up pocket deuces 2♥ 2♦ . Mizzi’s Q♦ A♣ would find an ace on the flop and the turn, but next to the ace was a third duck 3♣ Aâ™  2♣ A♦ 7♣ sinking Mizzi’s chances in 23rd place ($1,652.54).

Only 16 players would take the five minute break before the ninth hour of play. TheDegenFund would be trying to use those chips from Mizzi to improve on a ninth place finish in this tournament back in June. TheDegenFund was not the only one looking for a successful return to the final table as former Warm-Up champ needdollarz was still in the mix for a second title.

WCOOP 2013 Event #9 champ OMGjonyctt was asked to leave the table after getting in a short-stack of 287,138 chips against monzemann during a blind versus blind battle. monzemann’s king-high K♦ 4♦ was enough to beat out OMGjonyctt’s J♣ 6♣ on a 3♥ 8â™  7♥ 10♦ 2♦ board as the bracelet winner took away $3,835.14 in 11th place.

Hand-for-hand play was quick and easy as the blinds held at 50K/100K ante 10K. Pullenbirds would try to grab the blinds with a shove for 1.07 million from the hijack seat. However, -Plz1Tiiime- found a couple of nines 9♣ 9â™  in the big blind to make the call. Pullenbirds’ A♣ 7♣ failed to catch up on the 2♦ 5â™  6♦ Q♦ 8♥ board to start up the final table below:

Quick Start, Quick Ending

Before anyone could get even a “gl all” into the chat box, Luciano S.H’s tournament life would be on the line. Shoving 2.1 million chips from the button Luciano S.H’s pocket nines 9♥ 9♣ would need some luck against RMarland who just happened to find aces A♦ Aâ™  in the small blind. But, LucainoS.H would get to play at least one more hand after a nine showed up in the door 9â™  10♥ 6â™  7♣ J♦ taking away the 4.6 million chip pot.

Eight minutes later TheDegenFund was looking to knockdown needdollarz’s attempt at a second Warm-up title.

With the blinds up to 65K/130K ante 13K, needdollarz would three-bet all-in from middle position for 1.8 million as TheDegenFund made the call with pocket sevens 7♥ 7♣ . The race against needdollarz’s big slick K♦ A♣ ended quickly with a flopped boat for TheDegenFund 7â™  Jâ™  J♣ 10â™  2♣ . Needdollarz’s return to the final table was a diminutive one ending in ninth place ($4,988.80).

Gregior, with a couple of Super Tuesday final tables to the UK player’s credit, was looking to improve a shrinking chip supply during the 100K/200K ante 20K blind level after three-bet shoving 1.3 million over a min-raise by RMarland. Aâ™  9♣ was enough for the call and enough to best gregior’s dominated A♦ 7♦ on the 6â™  9♦ 3♦ 4♥ 8♣ board. Gregior took 7,795.00 in eighth place.

Knocked out of the park

A few minutes before a blind increase, PCA 2013 $10K turbo champ Shannon “basebal1b” Shorr would strike out of this tournament. With the blinds at 125K/250K ante 25K, basebal1b would shove for 1.75 million as two seats over -Plz1Tiiime- also shoved from the button for 4.1 million. -Plz1Tiiime-‘s Aâ™  J♦ dominated pre-flop over Shorr’s A♥ 10â™  , holding through the 5♦ 2â™  8â™  4♥ K♥ board. Shorr took away $14,031.00 in seventh place.

A pause for funds distribution

After TheDegenFund sent RMarland home in sixth place ($20,267.00), five-handed play would trudge on for a little more than 20 minutes before the players sat down with Team Online’s Randy “nanonoko” Lew to deal, and lock up around third place money with $10,000 set aside for the winner. This was good timing for Luciano S.H who lost a decent stack and his tournament life shortly after the chop talks, losing back-to-back all-in hands against eiro07 to finish in fifth place.

-Plz1Tiiime- (Malta) $61,949.85
Luciano S.H (Brazil) $55,667.96
eiro07 (Austria) $54,100.91
TheDegenFund (Mexico) $52,253.97
monzemann (Austria) $51,208.13

One time chip used… again

After 15 minutes of four-handed play the depleted stack of TheDegenFund holding at just under five million chips, he would shove all-in from the cutoff as eiro07 made the call holding 8♦ A♠ . The kicker was good enough as TheDegenFund turned up 5♣ A♥ and watched the K♣ K♦ 4♦ 3♠ Q♥ board turn up empty. He was out in fourth place ($52,253.97).

Just as eiro07 knocked out Luciano S.H with back-to-back all-ins, eiro07 would exit in a similar manner. Just two hands after knocking out the TheDegenFund, eiro07 would double-up monzemann in a 12.7 million chip pot then with the blinds still at 250K/500K ante 50K. Eiro07 would shove 6.6 million from the button getting a call from -Plz1Tiiime-‘s pocket fives 5â™  5♥ . Eiro07’s suited connector 10♦ 9♦ would be dead by the turn 4♥ 4♦ J♥ 5♦ 10â™  and he would pick up $54,100.91 in third place.

Despite the 18.7 million to 12.4 million chip difference, monzemann was not about to go quietly into the night. The resilience was shown by doubling up in the third hand of heads-up play and temporarily taking the chip lead. However -Plz1Tiiime- brought the fury at the end, winning nine out of the last ten hands, include this one, that locked up the title.

With the blinds still at 250K/500K ante 50K and the chip counts similar to the start of heads-up play, monzemann would min-raise as -Plz1Tiiime- three bet to 2.1 million. Holding Aâ™  10♦ monzemann shoved for 12.6 million as -Plz1Tiiime- quickly called with pocket kings K♥ Kâ™  . No aces on the 2â™  8♣ 5♥ 8â™  K♦ final board as -Plz1Tiiime- took away the final pot, winning $71,949.85 as this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champion!
