Several players late in tonight’s first edition of the Sunday Warm-Up as part of the Double Vision promotion tonight were looking for a second title. A MicroMillions champ, A Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) champ, and last week’s Sunday Million champ, all seeking a second title.

Despite the double chances for the Red Spades this evening, only Team Pro’s Ana Marquez (273rd place, $455.28) and Team Online’s Caio Pessagno (296th place, $439.02) would join the 585 players out of 4,065 that enjoyed a return on investment this evening.

15 players would remain after nine hours of play with one looking for a slightly different version of the double vision theme PokerStars has put on this during this evening’s Sunday Majors. g3r4rd0x had just 14 players to go as the players sat out for the last time before the final table for something this writer believes has not happened. After capturing the Sunday Million last weekend for $108,234.99 g3r4rd0x had the potential to take down a Sunday Major in consecutive weekends. However, g3r4rd0x’s chances at such a double turned very bleak after running into TheMasterJ33’s aces on the penultimate hand before the final table. After g3r4rd0x’s K♣ Jâ™  failed to catch up to TheMasterJ33’s aces Aâ™  A♦ on the 5♦ 10♣ 6♦ 8♣ A♥ g3r4rd0x was left with just 212,111 chips and blinds at 50K/100K ante 10K with 11 people left.

While g3r4rd0x would not be able to claim back-to-back wins, the Peru Sunday Major slayer could claim back-to-back Sunday Major final tables thanks to a massive three-way six million chip pot that saw the button and both blinds go all-in preflop. Watch below to see who prevailed:

TedSTRETCH: 7♥ J♣
PanchoSuper: 5♠ 5♥
777xyz777: K♣ A♣

TedSTRETCH went for the button shove to claim the blinds but ran into not one but two willing customers. PanchoSuper (which fellow blogger Brad Willis may have been rooting for tonight, given his dining experiences with the Superpancho while covering the LAPT a few years ago) would avoid an ace or king, but the board double paired Q♦ Q♠ 9♠ 9♣ 10♥ giving 777xyz777 the entire six million chip pot and knocking out TedSTRETCH in 11th place and PanchoSuper in 10th place with both earning $4,878.00 as the final table set up at Table 268 below:

No comeback tonight for g3r4rd0x

Despite the comeback win at the Sunday Million last weekend, the road to victory would have been much more steep tonight for g3r4rd0x. With the blinds at 50K/100K ante 10K, g3r4rd0x would call all-in from the small blind after flopped6810 put in a small three-bet after tron1ft8 opened for a min-raise. tron1ft8 decided to play a different game and folded as flopped6810 showed big slick Kâ™  A♦ . g3r4rd0x’s luck would be tested holding 5♦ K♥ and the Sunday Million winner would not pull it off tonight as the board double paired again Qâ™  Q♣ 4♥ Jâ™  4â™  and flopped6810’s ace kicker was enough to send g3r4rd0x home in ninth place ($6,504.00).

Big slick strikes again

flopped6810 would establish the first eight digit stack and strengthen that lead by making the second elimination of the night. With the blinds moving up to 65K/130K ante 13K flopped6810 would lead with a min-raise from UTG. Right next door nfa1080 tried to take the dead money in the middle by shoving for 2.4 million. Folded back around to flopped6810 holding the popular big slick K♦ A♠ and the chip leader made the call. nfa1080 showed a slightly lower kicker A♦ Q♠ and was forced to watch big slick take home yet another big pot after the 4♦ J♥ 7♥ 8♣ 4♣ board was absent of queens, claiming $10,162.50 in eighth place.

Studly play

If you check Hood_Ace’s accomplishments in WCOOP and SCOOP Stud tournaments are already known, claiming a final table in 2011 WCOOP’s Event #24 and two final tables in 2011 SCOOP on the same day in Event #10-H and the champion’s watch in Event #10-M (are doubles coming out of the woodwork for this weekend?). Hood_Ace seems to find NLHE to the VIP Supernova’s liking as well. Just eight minutes after nfa1080 left, Hood_Ace would three-bet shove for 3.4 million as TheMasterJ33 decided to defend the min-raise with a call all-in holding pocket queens Q♣ Q♦ . The Stud star was looking good for to add a NLHE title after showing pocket kings K♦ K♥ and watching them clear the 2♦ 10â™  A♥ 8â™  8♦ board for the 4.7 million chip pot and bringing that victory one step closer after TheMasterJ33 took home $18,292.50 in seventh place. Jason “TheMasterJ33” Dewitt had a bit of WCOOP success as well, claiming the Day 1 lead of the 2009 WCOOP Main Event (finishing in 87th for $17K)

Quickly down to five

Just four minutes later as the blinds moved up to 80K/160K ante 16K shortstacked Sghango would open shove for 1.4 million from hijack seat as 777xyz777 made the right decision out of the small blind to make the call holding A♣ 9♥ . The nine kicker was dominate Sghango’s Aâ™  6â™  despite the teeth-clenching two spades on the flop 2â™  3♣ 7â™  . The rest of the board was much less tense 2♥ 5♦ as the 3.1 million chip pot slid to 777xyz777 and Sghango was the proud owner of sixth place cash ($26,422.50).

YES!!! NO!!!! YES!!!!!

Three players, two all-in, one elimination. The winner probably requiring a little cool-down after the board took the 7.3 million chip pot on a wavy ride. Watch below:

tron1ft8: A♥ 3♠
HNESNESNE5: A♠ 9♦
777xyz777: K♦ K♥

One could almost hear 777xyz777 through the internet chanting “avoid the ace, avoid the ace” but sure enough one of the two would hit the flop and the underdog tron1ft8 would actually take the lead with two pair 3♥ A♦ 5♦ . Sweet redemption on the turned two-outer Kâ™  left tron1ft8 with one out but the J♦ river was not it. 777xyz777 scooped the entire 7.3 million chip pot as tron1ft8’s light cycle was not quick enough to avoid elimination in fifth place ($34,552.50). With the announcement of MicroMillions III starting up in two weeks, we’re sure tonight’s cash will help finance another potential title run for tron1ft8 after taking down Event #29 for $12K during MicroMillions II.

Combined to challenge the chip leader

flopped6810 continued to dominate the chip lead holding 19 million chips to 21.5 million held by the other three remaining players. With the blinds up to 100K/200K ante 20K two of them decided to shuffle their chips together for a 13.4 million chip pot. The chip leader would lead out for a min-raise from the cutoff as the entire table jumped in with calls. 6♠ 9♦ 4♦ flop got HNESNESNE5 to lead out for 800,000 as everyone but flopped6810 called. Turned J♥ and HNESNESNE5 again led, this time for 1.4 million and 777xyz777 made the call. 8♦ river and HNESNESNE5 tried one more time, this time shoving for 3.3 million holding the flopped top pair A♣ 9♠ . However, 777xyz777 improved to top pair on the turn, and a flush 5♦ J♦ on the river to take down the biggest pot of the tournament to his point and eliminate HNESNESNE5 in fourth place ($46,747.50).

Kicked in the hood

Hood_Ace was trying to add a Sunday Warm-Up title next to the SCOOP watch picked up last year, but would fall just short of doing so tonight. With the blinds at 125K/250K ante 25K Hood_Ace would button raise to 525,000 as 777xyz777 three-bet to 1.5 million. Back to Hood_Ace holding A♦ J♦ and the decision was to shove, for 6.2 million as 777xyz777 was more than happy to call holding the undefeated king in elimination hands… big slick A♥ K♣ . An unnecessary king on the flop made it easier for 777xyz777 to prevail 4♣ 9♣ K♦ 6♣ 7♥ as Hood_Ace notched another impressive final table run taking home $67,072.50 in third place.

Disconnected deal struck

The remaining two would look at two hands before handing the reins over to Team Online’s Andre Coimbra to hash out the chip chop numbers:

777xyz777 $108,219.13
flopped6810 $104,542.87

The number came out quickly but flopped6810’s internet connection seemed to disconnect at a very bad time. After a five minute disconnect break, flopped6810 came right back on to strike the deal shown above in less than a minute as the players would continue on for $10,000.00 left behind for this week’s Sunday Warm-Up champ.

Flopped on top

Bolstered by winning two huge elimination pots, 777xyz777 would carry a 23.8 million to 16.7 million chip lead into heads-up play. Longer than most, and despite already locking up the big funds, the two would play for almost 20 minutes.

The turning point would come with the blinds still at 125K/250K ante 25K as flopped6810 would raise over a limping 777xyz777 to 750,000. 777xyz777 made the call to see a 3♦ 9♥ 10♦ flop as flopped6180, down 12 million to 28.6 million at this point, bet another 750,000 which 777xyz777 called. 10♥ turn and flopped6810 bet 1.6 million but this time 777xyz777 came back with a raise to 3.25 million. Not messing around, flopped6810 shoved for 10.4 million as 777xyz777 had no answer and folded, giving flopped6810 the 9.5 million chip pot.

A baker’s dozen of hands later and just five hands after flopped6810 took a 16.2 million chip hand from 777xyz777, flopped6810 would carry a 27.5 million to 13.1 million chip lead into the final hand below:

And with pocket eights 8♣ 8♥ holding up over 777xyz777’s Qâ™  K♥ after all the money went in on a 6♥ 10♣ 9♦ flop, flopped6810’s pair would sneak through the 4â™  turn and 3â™  river to claim this week’s (first) Sunday Warm-Up title!
