With most of the poker world is nursing their World Series of Poker hangovers as play in the Main Event is going down to 27 tonight, some players online had other aspirations. Tonight’s $400,000 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up saw zinkAA return to the final table after making here in March last year, and tonight taking home the title and $73,090.91 after pummeling the competition at the end.

Picking up the action with 15 players left, with the blinds at 25K/50K ante 5K advenje looked to soar into the chip after getting Sexer89 and zinkAA all-in with lesser aces preflop. advenje would turn over big slick A♣ Kâ™  holding a huge advantage over zinkAA’s A♦ Q♦ and Sexer89’s A♥ 4♦ . But, a flopped flush draw would get there on the river 2♦ 6♦ 3♣ 9â™  7♦ sending zinkAA’s stack to over 1.9 million chips as Sexer89 took away $2,359.26 in 15th place.

With the loss, advenje would be knocked down to under 800K and hoping to prevent a repeat of a run at the Sunday Warm-Up title in January 2013 when the Dutch player also got to the final two tables only to be knocked out before the final nine. Sadly, a dozen hands later, monkeygohome would shove three million chips from the small blind and advenje would defend all-in holding pocket sixes 6â™  6♦ . Looking good against monkeygohome’s 4♥ 7♦ until the turned six 8♣ 5♥ Aâ™  6♥ 10♦ notched a straight for monkeygohome, and advenje might need a few drinks to cool down after taking away $2,359.26 in 13th place.

In a hurry to get the final table festivities started hand-for-hand play would begin just five minutes later after Jez509 knocked out a shortstacked bertulsons with ace-six versus bertulsons’ big slick when a six hit the flop 7♦ 8♥ 6♣ 10♥ 8♦ for another tournament shifting hand with a underdog winning. Four minutes later with the blinds up to 40K/80K ante 8K Proludo would raise to 320,000 from the button as Bersma holding just 487,890 chips shoved all-in from the big blind holding 2♥ Aâ™  . Proludo’s pocket sixes 6♣ 6♥ turned out to be a little more lucky than advenje’s as the 8♣ J♣ 5♦ 4♦ 9♥ board shipped Proludo the 1.055 million chip pot thus starting the final table below:

Seat 1: KTaylor12345 (1850258 in chips)
Seat 2: Jez509 (6268018 in chips)
Seat 3: swanlake88 (1627312 in chips)
Seat 4: PapaGreggio (1401261 in chips)
Seat 5: Proludo (2095699 in chips)
Seat 6: monkeygohome (3985812 in chips)
Seat 7: zinkAA (2436828 in chips)
Seat 8: Mavericci (2290979 in chips)
Seat 9: zetheriver (1173833 in chips)

Tower, this is Ghost Rider requesting a flyby

Sorry, Mavericci, the pattern is full. Full as in a full house. With the blinds still at 40K/80K ante 8K zinkAA would min-raise from the cutoff as Mavericci shoved for 1.5 million holding A♣ 7♦ . zinkAA decided pocket eights 8â™  8♣ were enough to lock on to the target for a shot. By the turn Qâ™  8♦ 5â™  Q♦ 6♣ eights became a full house and Mavericci’s tournament breath away in ninth place ($3,932.10).

Ze river is no help

Just two minutes after the ninth hourly break with the blinds moving up to 50K/100K ante 10K PapaGreggio, with an final table finish in the Sunday Million (April 2012, eighth place for $17K) would try not to repeat that feat tonight by shoving 661,261 from the hijack seat holding Q♠ A♣ . zetheriver sitting in the small blind with pocket tens 10♣ 10♠ decided to make the call as KTaylor12345 gave up the big blind without incident. The mid-range board 6♠ 5♦ 3♠ J♦ 4♣ helped neither zetheriver nor PapaGreggio as the latter took home eighth place again ($6,707.72).

Swan song

One hand before the blinds moved up, KTaylor12345 gave swanlake88 an express exit. Blinds holding at 50K/100K ante 10K swanlake88 would shove 1.05 million from early position as it folded around to KTaylor12345 sitting back on aces A♣ A♦ in the big blind. Of course, KTaylor12345 made the call as swanlake88’s K♦ 10♦ needed a big connection. Hitting top pair 8â™  Q♦ Kâ™  4â™  9♥ is usually a cause for excitement, but the overpair held causing swanlake88 to pirouette off stage in seventh place ($11,333.70).

KTaylor12345 not done

Two minutes later with the blinds now up to 65K/130K ante 13K KTaylor12345 would lead for a min-raise as it folded around to zetheriver clutching on to 624,344 chips in the big blind. Well, holding those chips for about 30 more seconds as zetheriver shoved as KTaylor12345 made the call with pocket fives 5♣ 5♥ . zetheriver turned over K♣ Q♥ for a flip, until a third five landed on the turn 2♣ 7♠ A♠ 5♦ 10♦ washing away zetheriver in sixth place ($15,959.70). Another great finish for zetheriver in 2014 who also chopped the Sunday Million four-ways for $120K in April.

Home stretch sprint

Distance runners in training like to push themselves during the last mile to break the monotony of pacing over a couple of hours. After nine hours of poker play, chip leader zinkAA put on a blistering pace during the last moments of the 65K/130K ante 13K level that left only one other player in the tournament. On the first hand of the carnage after zinkAA took a 6.7 million pot from Jez509 with a river shove, Proludo would raise all-in for 874,699 as zinkAA joined in with a shove holding 7♥ A♥ . Proludo’s Kâ™  J♦ would find a pair of jack on the flop, but could not top the turned ace 6♥ 8â™  J♣ A♣ 9♦ earning Proludo $20,585.70 in fifth place.

Two hands later as the blinds moved up to 80K/160K ante 16K zinkAA ramped up the aggression holding 15 million chips while the rest of the table combined for less than eight million. Shoving from the cutoff, zinkAA watch Jez509 call-in from the small blind holding 10♦ Qâ™  . zinkAA’s 2â™  J♦ watched a wall of clubs on the flop then the important jack on the turn 6♣ 8♣ A♣ Jâ™  Aâ™  gave the chip leader another 1.7 million chip pot as Jez509 limped off stage with $27,062.10 in fourth place.

Then on the next hand zinkAA went right back to work, this time only raising to 396,565 preflop from the small blind. KTaylor12345 was hoping this was just another big stack bully raise after shoving for 2.64 million holding pocket eights 8♠ 8♣ . Unfortunately, there was no jack-deuce this time as the chip leader turned over pocket aces A♦ A♣ . An ace on the flop with bookended fours 4♣ K♠ A♠ 5♠ 4♥ sent 5.3 million chips to zinkAA and $39,321.00 to KTaylor12345 in third place.

Monkey finally went home

Heads-up play would only take four minutes as zinkAA’s 18.8 million to monkeygohome’s 4.2 million chip leader proved to be too much. On the 12th hand of heads-up play with the blinds holding at 80K/160K ante 16K and zinkAA stretching the lead to 20.4 million against monkeygohome’s 2.6 million, monkeygohome would min-raise from the button. zinkAA took offense to the raise and shoved, forcing monkeygohome to a decision for the tournament title. monkeygohome called holding 6♣ A♣ as zinkAA turned up J♣ Q♦ . The board sent down a jack for the chip leader 2â™  3â™  J♦ 2♣ 6â™  which shipped this week’s Sunday Warm-up title and $73,090.71!
