Here come the Brazilians! It took just two events before a Brazilian basked in the warm glow of the winner’s circle at the 2017 Turbo Championship of Online Poker. Murilo ‘Muka82’ Figueiredo came from behind to win TCOOP Event #2 PLO8 Prog-Knockout at a final table that featured a trio of Germans and two Russians. Muka82 only needed 13 hands of heads-up action to send Denmark’s philpoo home in second place.
Murilo ‘Muka82’ Figueiredo made history on the Latin America Poker Tour back in 2011 when he became the first-ever Brazilian to win a LAPT event by shipping the LAPT Chile. Since then he also won a BSOP side event and binked MicroMillions title back in 2014.
TCOOP Event #2 $82 PLO Hi/Lo Progressive Knock-out attracted 1,378 runners as an 8-max event. The prize pool worth $103,350 had doubled the initial $50,000 Guarantee. Half of the pool, or $51,675, went to the regular prize pool, while $51,675 went toward the progressive KO bounty pool. The top 167 places paid out with $8,023.12 set aside to the champion.
With 35 to go, two big stacks passed the 1M chip mark — philipoo and Gozillaah. With 16 to go on the final two tables, Boby Boom raced past the 2M mark. With 10 to go, Chamäleon1 topped the charts with 2.1M. With 9 to go, NikkiWolf jumped into first place with 2.7M.
Australia’s lautokastar bubbled off the final table in ninth place. lautokstar got it all-in with A♠K♣10♦5♦ in a multi-way pot against Chamäleon1’s A♥J♣2♣2♠ and SemmelNy’s A♠K♣10♦5♦. Without a qualifying low, SemmelNy won the pot with two pair. SemmelNy picked up lautokastar’s bounty.

The final table commenced during Level 52 with blinds at 40K/80K. Germany’s SemmelNy led the way with 3.4M, while Germany’s Chamäleon1 was the short stack with 620K.
Russia’s Boby Boom won a TCOOP back in 2014. That was a 6-max NL Omaha8 event. Denmark’s philipoo took second in the Sunday Million back in 2009 for a 165K score.
In real life, Muka82 became the first Brazilian to win an event on the LAPT. In the virtual world, he shipped a MicroMillions title in 2014. Muka82 made a pair of SCOOP final tables in 2014 and came close to winning his first COOP with a second-place finish.

SHAKERMAKER: NikkiWolf eliminated in 8th place
The final table played out a full orbit before sending someone to walk the plank. Muka82 min-raised, NikkiWolf capped to 900,000, and Muka82 called. The flop was 10♣8♠4♣. Muka82 fired out 1,980,000 and NikkiWolf called all-in for 1,466,622.
NikkiWolf led with Aces, but Muka82 flopped a nut-flush draw. The turn was the J♦ and the river was the J♣. Muka82 rivered a flush to win the pot.
Muka82 collected a bounty worth $337.19. NikkiWolf had Aces snapped off and became the first player to exit the final table. Eighth place paid out $850.30.
SUPERSONIC: Boby Boom eliminated in 7th place; Chamäleon1 eliminated in 6th place
Two for one! Short-stacked Boby Boom open-shoved 393,178, Chamäleon1 re-raised to 1,359,534, SemmelNy shoved for 2,066,653, and Chamäleon1 called all-in for 141,516.
Boby Boom: A♣Q♦8♥5♦
The board ran out 10♦6♥4♠6♦K♦. SemmelNy won the main pot and side with an Ace-high flush (and no qualifying low). Boby Boom improved to a King-high flush but got out-kicked by SemmelNy. Chamäleon1 could only muster up two pair. Boby Boom busted in seventh place, which paid out $1,171.70. Chamäleon1 was dunzo in sixth place, which paid out $1,614.59.
SAD SONG: ThomiDaHomi eliminated in 5th place
SemmelNy min-raised to 240,000, ThomiDaHomi re-raised to 780,000, and SemmelNy called. The flop was Q♥7♦6♣. ThomiDaHomi bombed it all in for 1,429,930 and is SemmelNy called.
ThomiDaHomi led with Aces. The turn was the 3♦ and the river was the 3♠. SemmelNy won the pot with a full house and a 7-6-4-3-2 low against ThomiDaHomi’s two pair — Aces and treys — and an 8-7-6-3-A low. SemmelNy won the pot and collected a bounty worth $250.77. Germany’s ThomiDaHomi took home $2,224.87 for fifth place.
With 4 to go… SemmelNy led with 6.3M and philipoo was the shorty with 938K. SemmelNy would not hold onto the big stack for much longer once philipoo seized the lead.
DIGBY’S DINER: kolios eliminated in 4th place; SemmelNy eliminated in 3rd place
Another two for one. kolios opened to 1.12M, SemmelNy shoved for 2,101,240, and Muka82 re-raised to 3,082,480, and kolios called all-in for 380,640. Three-way action with two all-ins.
kolios held Aces against Big Slick two-ways. The board ran out K♣6♦4♣7♥K♠. Muka82 won the main pot and side pot. Muka92 scooped with a full house and a 7-6-4-2-A low. SemmelNy lost with an eight-high straight and a 7-6-5-4-A low. kolios failed to improve with two pair (Aces and Kings) and an 9-7-6-4-A low.
Muka82 picked up two more bounties including $1,547.65 for busting SemmelNy and $41.02 for knocking out kolios, Canada’s kolios was picked off in fourth place, which paid out $3,065.84. SemmelNy busted in third place, which paid out $4,224.66.

Heads-up last 13 hands. On the fourth hand, Muka82 won a 4.5M pot to take a 3-1 edge. philipoo never recovered.
Going into the final hand, Muka82 led 11.4M to 2.4M. Muka82 opened to 1.08M, philipoo shoved for 2,357,396, and Muka82 called. philipoo led with Kings.
The board finished up 9♣8♦7♣9♠4♠. Muka82 flopped a straight to knock off Kings. Muka82 scooped with a nine-high straight and an 8-7-6-5-4-A low. philipoo did not have a qualifying low and tabled a mere two pair. Denmark’s philipoo was flushed down the toilet and headed to the rail in second place. Muka82 earned a bounty worth $348.03 for busting philipoo.
For a gutsy runner-up performance, philipoo earned $5,821.50.
