Eight more tournaments wrapped on Friday night in the 2021 Turbo Series at PokerStars. Here’s a full rundown of all the action heading into the weekend.

TURBO TAKES

Victory for Vilmunen: Turbo or not, if there are mixed games to be played you better believe Finland’s Jani “kiiski” Vilmunen is going to be in the mix. He already has two WCOOP titles worth a combined $403K–both in High non-NLHE events–plus a TCOOP win for almost $10K in an $82 Stud Hi/Lo event. Vilmunen added a Turbo Series title to his CV last night, finishing first in Event #110 – $215 NLO8 6-Max PKO for $9,019 plus $12,861 in bounties, taking his total purse to $21,881. The tournament had 575 total entries. This is the second title for Finland this series.

Success for SCOOP champ: Four years ago Ukraine’s “drew.derzh” was playing for pennies on PokerStars. Three years ago they won a SCOOP title for $106K. And last night they took down Event #112 of the Turbo Series–the $530 6-Max Daily Supersonic–for $36,444. drew.derzh has had a rapid ascension through the tournament ranks and speaking of rapid, it took them just two hours and twenty minutes to work through the 380-entry field.
