Six hours and 38 minutes. That’s how long it took Brazil’s “NLarrat” to turn their $22 buy-in into $31,060 (a return of investment of 141,181 per cent) in Event 23 of the Turbo Series yesterday (April 8).
That event attracted a field of 15,308 entries, smashing the $200K guarantee to create a $306,150 prize pool. “NLarrat” was in for just one bullet and took it down following a heads-up deal.
That enormous spin-up was one of several highlights we saw on Day 4 of the Turbo Series.
Denis “aDrENalin710” Strebkov, who holds the record for the most World Championship of Online Poker titles (nine) and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2019, took down a title in the $530 8-Game (Event 22) for $17,400, overcoming a final table which included Noah “Exclusive” Boeken (3rd – $9,062) and Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez (4th – $6,162).
Maxime “Daghemuneguu” Chilaud was the biggest winner, taking down the largest buy-in event of the day with a victory in Event 24: $1,050 PKO 8-Max for $103,353 ($45,398 plus $57,955 in bounties). The tournament received 602 entries to build a $602K prize pool. Check out our interview with Chilaud after he won his first WCOOP title last year.
If we’re talking about speedy spin-ups we’ve got to give a standing ovation to Canada’s “ricer19” who took down the $530 6-Max Hyper-Turbo Daily Supersonic Special Edition for $51,321. It took him just two hours and 21 minutes to fight his way through the 571-strong field.
It’s been an incredible series so far for “ricer19” as he also finished third in Event 2 ($109 8-Max) for $30,857.
