“It’s the spot of your life!”

We all have goals in poker. For some, it’s to play in a European Poker Tour Main Event. For others, it’s to head to the World Series of Poker and win a bucket-list bracelet.

For PokerStars Team Pro Tom “Majincast” Hayward, it was to one day win the Sunday Million.

“I’ve literally had dreams about winning this tournament,” he admits. “Physical dreams!”

It was so far, so good for Hayward after Day 1 of the 50/50 Series $50 PKO Half-Price Sunday Million (August 1). He ended the day in 56th place with just 132 of the 26,651 total entries remaining.

His Day 2 started off swimmingly and only got better from there:

“This is the spot of your life,” Hayward told himself as his pocket kings held for a double.

But this is poker and it’s not often everything goes perfectly:

Still, Hayward thought it was meant to be. The Poker Gods, however, had other ideas:

The final three eventually opted for a deal, settling on an ICM chop. “It makes sense to take it,” Hayward said. “It’s a f*#%ing huge field!”

It all ended in glorious fashion:

What a win. Even Joe Rogan fanboyed out.

“I’ve won [the Sunday Million] in my sleep several times, then I wake up to the realization that I’m not actually up $100k and the day’s grind is still yet to begin,” Hayward tells us. “I know that overcoming a field of that size is a bit of a pipe dream, and it took some very clear run good and patience in some key spots, so I’m thankful to have been the person who ran the best on the day. But deep down, I just had a sick feeling that I’d bink the Sunday Million eventually.”

The dream has now come true. Congrats, Tom.

True Geordie vs Team Pro

Tomorrow (Friday August 6) sees another poker showdown between the True Geordie podcast team and the PokerStars Team Pros.

This time it’s Brian Davis (True Geordie), Adam McKola and Rory Jennings versus Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbot, Sunday Million champ Tom “Majincast” Hayward, and Arlie “princepablo” Shaban.

There’s $5,000 up top for the winner, while the second and third-place finishers will win tickets to the WCOOP Main Event.

It all kicks off at 5:30pm BST (12:30pm ET) on the PokerStars Twitch channel.

True Geordie ended up beating the pros (Tonkaaaa, Spraggy and Fintan) last time, so can they settle the score? You can check out the highlights from the previous showdown below.

The hand keeps getting better.

What goes around…

…comes around.

A painful cooler.

Get on his level.

Just plain dirty.

How we want every tournament to start.

Fintan’s genius guess.

The turn giveth, the river taketh away.

Doing the spadework.
