Are you playing WCOOP this weekend?

It’s hard to believe we’re already entering the final weekend of the World Championship of Online Poker 2021.

Another FT for Arlie

If you were watching Arlie “Prince Pablo” Shaban’s Twitch stream last Thursday night (Sep 2) you were in for some craziness.

Shaban satellited his way into the WCOOP $1K Turbo PKO (54-H) and despite his late entry he managed to run deep. With 14 left, however, he shot down to just a quarter of a big blind but miraculously managed a seemingly never-ending run of double-ups which left him with a middle stack on the final table–his third of the series.

Headphone warning:

Another headphone warning:

He’d ultimately fall in fourth for just shy of $16K (including bounties), as Brazil’s “drogba060193” took it down for $70,727 total.

How many final tables will Shaban have by the end of the series? And will he be able to capture a title? Tune in to his stream to find out. It’s never dull.

Meanwhile, outside of WCOOP…

This might be a WCOOP edition of the Twitch Poker Tribune, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t shout out Lex Veldhuis for his runner-up finish in the two-day $530 Bounty Builder over the weekend.

Unfortunately, hands like this one–which was three-bet preflop, by the way–prevented the victory. Still, Lex banked $47,530

Also, congratulations to Fintan “easywithaces” Hand on his victory in the $215 Bounty Builder for $16,138, including bounties.

Finally, a shout out to Lasse “Wistern” Jagd Lauritsen for his win in the $215 Thursday Thrill (early edition) for $3,183, including bounties.

WCOOP clips of the week

Pye tells GJ a pretty awesome story:

The war of the throwables.

Welcome to Team Pro!

It’s easy with aces.

And with kings, apparently.

Tonkaaaa vs Lex in the $10K.

Absolute sickness.

Lex has a great sense of smell.

Don’t fear the royal.

Simply lovely stuff.

A salty Barry.

Tonkaaaa’s big misclick pays off.

GG for Bencb.
