Viewing guide: How to follow everything from EPT Barcelona

August 04, 2022inPoker

EPT Barcelona starts on Monday, promising nearly two full weeks of terrific competition. Even if you’re not able to make the journey to Casino Barcelona (and there are still plenty of opportunities to book a last-minute trip), you can follow much of the action from home.

Your three destinations for EPT Barcelona coverage should be as follows:

POKERSTARS LIVE – for live streaming of the Main Event and more
POKER NEWS – for text and picture updates from across numerous tournaments
POKERSTARS BLOG – for feature coverage, player interviews, full festival results and PokerStars-related activities

FOLLOW LIVE ON POKERSTARS LIVE

The European Poker Tour’s team of engineers and technicians is already on the ground in Barcelona, where one of their main tasks is the assembly of the television set ahead of eight days of peerless live broadcasts.

As usual, you can follow the broadcasts on PokerStars’ Twitch and YouTube channels (www.twitch.tv/pokerstars and https://www.youtube.com/pokerstars), where you should also be able to find commentary in Portuguese, French and Spanish, as well as English.

James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton will anchor the English-language coverage, with a rotation of special guest commentators offering expert analysis. There will also, of course, be a ton of giveaways and promotions associated with the stream, so it will be well worth watching.

EPT Barcelona will be given the full streaming treatment

The €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event gets the full streaming treatment from Day 2 onwards (August 17-21), but those channels go live on August 14. That allows time to cover the final of the Estrellas Main Event (Aug 14), which is always enormous, and the €100,000 Super High Roller (Aug 16), which will be populated by the game’s biggest sharks.

In between, on August 15, PokerStars Live will also stream a special PSPC Women’s Platinum Pass tournament — an incredible event, open only to women players, where the prize includes a Platinum Pass to the PSPC. More details on that will be coming soon. There may well be other events added to the schedule too.

All in all, prepare for some exceptional coverage from August 14 through 21.

POKER NEWS LIVE COVERAGE

Poker News will be in Barcelona

As you no doubt know, the EPT Barcelona festival features many more events than just the flagship few that get to feature on PokerStars Live feature table. In fact, there are 61 tournaments this time, including satellites, under the joint EPT and Estrellas Poker Tour branding.

SEE THE FULL EPT BARCELONA TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

Many of them run for multiple days and will feature many thousands of players. EPT Barcelona is a simply enormous festival, with action going on more than 12 hours a day, every day.

Obviously, there’s simply no way you can follow action at every table in every tournament, but the closest you’ll get is with Poker News’ live tournament coverage.

There will be an army of live reporters in Barcelona swarming between the tables for every day of competition in 14 tournaments. These include the Mystery Bounty events, one of which has a Platinum Pass up for grabs, as well as all seven tournaments with a buy-in of €25,000 and above.

Reporters crowd a table at the bubble

Remember, even though the Estrellas Main Event, the EPT Main Event and EPT Super High Roller will be streamed, cameras usually focus on only one table at a time. Live text reporters will be out and about around all the field, bringing coverage of all the pivotal hands happening elsewhere, as well as up-to-date chip counts.
