Team Online’s Shane Schleger did not last long in the 2013 World Series of Poker. That’s all we have to say about that. We’re going to assume he’s not happy.
In any case, since he had some free time, he’s…well, he’s become slightly obsessed with a phenomenon of people being “happy with how they played.”
The idea is this: it seems every Twitter post Schleger reads these days is about busted WSOP players being fully content with their play, but not with the outcome of the day. Put another way, “It wasn’t my fault!”
“Twitter search is funny. Finding that people have been ‘happy with how they played’ since 2010,” Schelger tweeted today.
This comes just a few hours after Schleger spent an inordinate about of time re-tweeting people who were, indeed, happy with how the played and wanted the world to know. Here were just a few of the examples he picked.

There were many more (and not everybody was happy with Schleger taking the time to point out how happy they were). It got testy.
But, by God, Schleger is a hero in our eyes. When no one else will take the time, Schleger is like the freaking Centers for Disease Control in identifying the 2013 Happiness Epidemic.
We like to do our part, so went spent a few minutes this afternoon searching for other growing outbreaks related to the epidemic. We have learned that there is a progression to the illness. It starts with the Got Unlucky Hantavirus, progresses to Optimism Pox, and eventually results in full blown happiness with one’s play.
The “Got Unlucky Hantavirus”
Symptoms include donkey noises, Tourettes, and luck deficiency
50,000 chips going into the dinner break (starting stack was 30k)! Was as high as 65k but got unlucky in a couple big pots.

Tonight we plan to gather all our resources to stamp out the happiness epidemic before it spreads to other poker tournaments around the world.
We’re going to start by slow-playing aces and see how happy we are with our play after that.

While we’re on the subject, we need to mention some losses in the PokerStars herd. Chris Moneymaker, David Williams, Eugene Katchalov, Johnny Lodden, Fatima Moreira de Melo. George Lind, and Barry Greenstein have all been eliminated today.
We did not ask them how they felt about their play.
