Jason Somerville is probably the hardest-working man in poker. In addition to being one of the most successful players of the generation that cut their teeth online, he’s also a respected poker coach, host, video maker and commentator, and even finds time to play a selection of other online games.
His poker career started at home games with friends in Long Island, New York. He then moved his game online, and in a little over a year had become good enough to have run the $5 he won in a freeroll up to a bankroll of $100,000.
His major live results at the WSOP* include a bracelet win in a 2011 $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event, plus several other final table finishes. He also scored a top-70 finish in the 2012 Main Event, but the biggest cash of his career so far was in a 2014 $100,000 Super High Roller event at the Bellagio, where Jason finished 4th for $1,347,352.
Jason’s online tourney results include a win in a Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) event in 2010 for $234,333. There have also been wins and final tables in other major PokerStars and Full Tilt events, amounting to more than $2,000,000 in online cashes.
In addition to playing the biggest live events and online at PokerStars, Jason is also the man behind the popular Run it UP bankroll challenge series, and has posted hundreds of videos since 2013. He also broadcasts live streaming content on Twitch, with a huge following around the world. Watch Jason over on the PokerStars Twitch and Run it UP channels.
