Skrill: Authenticating your transactions

Online payments in the EU come with an extra security check. It comes from legislation called 'Strong Customer Authentication' (SCA). It also covers Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

To keep your account safe, Skrill uses an extra authentication step sent by SMS or email. Make sure your phone number is correct in your profile, so you can easily access your account.

How does it work?

When you make a deposit, Skrill will send a verification code to your mobile device. Then, we'll ask you to enter the code to complete the process.

You have 3 attempts to enter the correct verification code. If you enter an incorrect code 4 times, your payment won't get through. Skrill will also block your account.

If you haven't exhausted all your attempts, you can go back and select an alternative method.

If you've used the SCA before and chose to skip it, you won't need to do this step for future deposits.
