After four days and 11 exciting events, the Brazilian Series of Poker Online is done.
The BSOP has always been inviting to players from all over the globe who over the years have come to Brazil to enjoy the always great poker action. With the BSOP Online, players from all over were able to participate from the comfort of their own homes… and did they ever!
Indeed, over the course of the 11 events no less than 65% of those who participated were from countries other than Brazil. In fact, 96 countries were represented with eight countries producing BSOP event winners.
We certainly spotted a number of notables in the fields over the last four days, among them Dominik Nitsche, Chris Oliver, Niklas Astedt, Fedor Holz, Jonathan Van Fleet, Ludovic Geilich and Ole Schemion, just to name a few.
Last night came the finish of the BSOP Online’s climactic event, the two-day $215 Main Event (Event No. 7) that had a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000.
As happened with every other event in the series, that guarantee was easily exceeded as there were 2,572 total entries, meaning there was $514,000 up for grabs to be split among those making the money — more than two-and-a-half times the guarantee!
In the end it was the Russian Aleksandr “AxelwOw~” Sheshukov who managed to outlast that huge field to take the title, the $75,238.93 first prize, and a BSOP bracelet!

There was one other event left to play out as well, Event No. 11 ($55 Wrap-Up Turbo). Anton “aJarov” Yakuba of Ukraine topped one last enormous field of 1,248 entries to win that one, claiming $8,384.61 after a heads-up deal with the Brazilian “boladegude” who actually came away with slightly more ($8,401.61).
