We hope you’re ready for a thrilling summer full of daily doses of The Beautiful Game. But did you know there’s also a Football World Cup about to start?

The Beautiful Game we were referring to is, of course, SpinGoal, an exciting new Spin & Go promotion running on PokerStars alongside the FIFA World Cup.

There’s more than $100,000 up for grabs in prizes, so if you love footy and the fast-paced action of Spin & Go’s, you won’t want to miss this. 

But how does it work? Well, two teams of 11 go out on a pitch with goal posts at either end and…

Oh, you mean how does SpinGoal work? Let’s break it down.

HOW TO PLAY SPINGOAL

Running from today (June 11) until July 9, SpinGoal is a cool Spin & Go promotion that elevates the format by adding a fun ‘football sticker album’* concept.

*If you’re not familiar with a football sticker album, it’s basically an empty book that kids (and many young-at-heart adults) fill up by collecting stickers of players and coaches, sold in packets. Immensely popular in Europe and Latin America. Oh, what fun we had before the internet.

Anyway, in SpinGoal, PokerStars players will collect a squad of 26 players and one coach by playing Spin & Go’s. Every squad member collected gets you closer to scoring a prize and a share of more than $100,000.

To get involved, players must:

• Opt in to the ‘SpinGoal Puzzle’ via the Challenges window in the PokerStars client
• Play Spin & Go’s – PokerStars’ three-player, Hyper-Turbo Sit & Go tournaments available in Hold’em and Omaha, with buy-ins ranging from just $0.50 all the way up to $1,000
• Tournaments have randomly drawn prize pools with prizes of up to $1 million to be won

SpinGoal is only available on the following licenses: .BG, .CH, .COM, .EE, .EU, .RO, .UK

Neymar Jr, one of the world’s most famous football players and a PokerStars Ambassador, who will be representing his home nation of Brazil during the FIFA World Cup, said: “I’d love to say I’ll be chasing the big prizes in SpinGoal, but I’ll be busy on the pitch this summer. Football and poker fans are going to have a lot of fun playing SpinGoal and watching the competition during the matches.”

SPINGOAL STRATEGY

While you don’t have to win the Spin & Go you play to collect a squad member puzzle piece, it’s always more fun when you finish on top.

So, before you dive headfirst into SpinGoal and try to win your share of $100K, you should first take stock of your bankroll (i.e. figure out what Spin & Go buy-in level you can play comfortably), then brush up your Spin & Go strategy.
