An absolutely monstrous field was assembled on Sunday, April 16 2023 for the Sunday Storm Anniversary 12 — an $11 buy-in tournament boasting a $700K guarantee.
And in the end, it was an all-Brazilian heads-up battle for the title.
“Basigol” defeated “wesley.inf.br” heads-up in the Progressive Knockout event, winning the former $12,659 in bounties on top of the $13,391 first-place prize.
A staggering 72,658 entries (including 30,241 re-entries) took part in the two-day event, taking the prize pool up to $712,048.
Two of those entries belonged to none other than Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, and the PokerStars Team Pro used his second bullet to great effect. Spraggy ran very deep and finished 32nd out of more than 70,000, winning just over $1,100 for his efforts.
Congratulations to everyone who cashed in one of the biggest Sunday Storms of the year!

ABOUT THE EVENT
Every Sunday for the past 12 years, thousands upon thousands of people have stocked up on food and drink, retreated to their homes, put on their comfy clothes, and hunkered down inside.
Because a storm was a-brewing.
And we’re not talking about the weather.
The $11 buy-in Sunday Storm on PokerStars is a staple of every poker player’s Sunday session – from the weekend warriors to the high-stakes crushers and those who only play one online poker tournament a week.
And on Sunday, April 16 at 14:00 ET, the biggest Storm of the year is heading to your living room, office, dining table, bed… wherever you choose to play your online poker.
It’s the 12th anniversary of the legendary bankroll-boosting event and to celebrate, PokerStars is making things very interesting indeed:
The Sunday Storm Anniversary will have a supercharged $700,000 guaranteed in the prize pool – seven times its usual $100,000 guarantee – all for just an $11 buy-in.
Moreover, the tournament will have a Progressive Knockout format, allowing players to make money long before the bubble has burst.
In a nutshell, this is a must-play event for all poker players, and with a buy-in of just $11, it’s accessible to everyone.
You can simply buy in directly for that amount on the day, or at any time during the 280 minutes of late registration
But you can also win your way into the tournament for absolutely nothing because PokerStars is offering $75,000 in added-value satellites.
Here’s how to qualify.
HOW TO QUALIFY
Mega Satellites
Mega satellites, with their slower structures and large fields, have less variance and provide an opportunity for hundreds of players to win a Sunday Storm Anniversary seat simultaneously.
An enormous mega satellite is running for the Sunday Storm Anniversary on:
Saturday 15th April at 15:10 ET
And PokerStars has doubled the number of seats guaranteed. There are now a whopping 1,000 seats up for grabs!
