Technical issues affected the final weekend of the 2022 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), but the schedule is now confirmed for “WCOOP Take 2” — as PokerStars concludes the series in style, with boosted guarantees. Here are the full details.
Where were we?
Before we were so rudely interrupted last month, the 2022 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) was going along swimmingly, entering its final weekend with everything ticking along nicely.
Then the gremlins arrived, and things had to slow down.
But that was then, and this is now — and we can now look forward to WCOOP Take 2, a kind of mini-series in its own right, or the appropriate conclusion of the regular WCOOP schedule.
Whatever you want to call it, we can announce 66 tournaments played over five days, with guarantees for just this portion of WCOOP hitting nearly $28 million.
That includes the PLO and NLHE Main Events, which begin on Sunday, November 6, and have some eye-watering, boosted guarantees. And there’s also the Women’s Event, with buy-ins of $5.50, $22 and $109, open only to PokerStars’ female players.
Chief among these brilliant rescheduled tournaments is the $10,300 buy-in WCOOP Main Event – High, also known as the World Championship of NLHE. It now has a guaranteed $7 million prize pool, which is $1 million more than when it was originally planned.
The $1,050 medium event has $5 million guaranteed, also a $1 million boost, and there’s $3 million guaranteed for the $109 buy-in low, which is $500K more than before.
We unfortunately had to wait a little while to play these out, but we’re confident it was worth the wait.

A SECOND GLANCE AT THE TAKE 2 SCHEDULE
The full schedule for WCOOP Take 2 is below, but let’s take a quick look at what else is on offer.
As ever with WCOOP, there’s something to suit players of all bankrolls and all tournament preferences. The lowest buy-in is $5.50, the highest is $10,300 and there’s everything else in between.
Those $5.50 buy-in comps include the WCOOP Take 2 Kickoff, which gets the mini-series started on Saturday, November 5 at 10.05am ET. There’s a $40K guarantee on that one, while its medium and high counterparts have buy-ins/guarantees of $55/$175K and $530/$200K respectively.
Let’s also highlight the Women’s Event again, drawing on the success of the first ever Women’s World Championship, which took place during the main WCOOP portion of play.
This is a NLHE tournament, with buy-ins of $5.50, $22 and $109, taking place on Sunday, November 6, at 1.30pm ET. Guarantees are $3.5K, $10K and $25K.
