EPT Cyprus activities: Stay entertained away from the tables

The European Poker Tour (EPT) returns to Northern Cyprus this month for a second iteration of the hugely popular EPT Cyprus festival. As before, we’ll be in the tremendous all-inclusive Merit Resort, Kyrenia, where there will be a full slate of tournaments and cash games to sate even the most ardent poker fan.
But, as always, that’s not all. Here’s a look at some of the off-the-felt EPT Cyprus activities you can join. It’s going to be a very busy week and a bit.
EPT CYPRUS ACTIVITIES
JET SKI RIDES
October 10-18, 12:00 daily
Suna’s Beach
The ocean laps up onto the beaches of the Merit Resort, and there’s no better way to make the most of it than by climbing aboard a jet ski and blazing a trail across it. Sign up for your ride, starting at noon every day.

ISLAND BOAT TOUR
October 12 & 17, 10:00-15:00
A luxurious trip around Cyprus and surrounding islands, with all food and drink provided? Yes please. This was one of the highlights of the festival for last year’s participants, so make sure you book a spot to sample the delights of the high sea.

October 11 & 18, 11:45-14:00
Gillham Vineyard
The whole island of Cyprus is a haven for foodies and oenophiles and this excursion to the exclusive Gillham Vineyard takes you right into the heart of wine country. Taste the very best of the local produce in a location that will take your breath away.

TEAM COMPETITION
October 13, 12:00-16:00
Meet up with the PokerStars Ambassadors and become willing pawns in their personal grudge matches. That’s one way to put it. Alternatively, get yourself ready for a high-octane, high-adrenaline afternoon of competitive activity on the Crystal Cove Beach. (People with back problems are advised not to participate.)

Reserve your place for any EPT Cyprus activity at the PokerStars Travel desk. Registration is available one day before activity date. One activity per person, but you can get on a waiting list in case a place arises.
PLAYERS PARTY
October 14, 20:00-LATE
Versace Gardens, Merit Royal Diamond Hotel
Every EPT player knows: there’s no EPT without a Players Party, so get yourself along to the Versace Gardens for an absolute cracker, with an open bar and finger food provided. Music comes from the DJ headliner Juicy M.

PLAYER LOUNGE
Every day, from October 10-17, the PokerStars Player Lounge opens at 21:00 providing complimentary food and drink plus a full slate of activities.

WELCOME DRINKS, LIVE MUSIC AND KARAOKE

Celebrate the return of the EPT to Cyprus with an opening night of merriment.
POKER DARTS
October 11, 21:00-LATE
If you can’t hit a winning hand at the poker tables, perhaps you’ll have better luck when the cards are pinned to dart boards and the arrows are in your hand.
PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT

While Brits of a certain age with remember the ITV game show hosted by Bruce Forsyth, everybody else (i.e., the lucky ones) will be able to make some new memories with this spin on an old favourite.

PING PONG COMPETITION

It will start out fun, but no doubt become exceptionally competitive. Come and display your table tennis skills. There’s almost certain to be some kind of prize for the winners as well.

The Player Lounge is going to be a great place just to sit and relax, with various games and video consoles alongside some comfy chairs. And as the EPT winds down, there will be a couple of nights of additional entertainment to keep you amused as you sink into the beanbags.
