Registration closed today on the EPT Paris Main Event, and once again this tournament at a relatively new destination shows the widespread appeal of the French capital among poker players.

In all, there were 1,474 entries of €5,300 apiece, creating a prize pool of €7,075,200. The top 215 players will be paid, with the winner set for a €1,148,600 first prize.

Although the field is slightly smaller than the previous two visits to Paris, this still ranks as the 15th biggest EPT Main Event in history, bigger than any other post-Covid Main Event outside of Barcelona.

FRENCH PLAYERS PROLIFERATE

As you might expect given our location, French players make up the largest portion of the field. There were 288 players representing the host nation, or 28 percent of the total. Italy (68 or 6.6%), the United Kingdom (57 or 5.6%), Spain (55 or 5.4%), and Germany (41 or 4.0%) round out the top five, as they did in 2024, at the last EPT Paris.

In all there were players from 66 nationalities, including representatives from so far afield as Taiwan, Cuba and Peru.
