Jerome Moreau

Jerome Moreau’s documented earnings from live poker tournaments total a relatively modest $7,000, but he has regularly sat down at the biggest games in the world next to the very best players. That’s because Moreau is a poker dealer, working on the European Poker Tour, among others, and is therefore closely acquainted with the world of elite tournament poker.

When he is not pitching the cards, he often plays online, under the screen-name “El_cardiaK”, and he won his Platinum Pass during the Platinum Madness promotion. He streamed his victory live on Twitch, and says the support he received from the channel was amazing. “I cried of happiness and couldn’t sleep all night,” Moreau said after sealing the deal. “Even on the final table I was already so excited and dreaming of winning.”

Moreau is 32, from Valence in France, and says he enjoys smoking shisha, playing squash/racquet sports, music, cinema and partying, when he is not inside a poker room. He started playing poker in 2011 when one of his best friends was opening a poker association in France. At the time, Moreau was an optical fibre technician and wanted to open his own company, but instead took a croupier course and started working in the gaming industry. He hasn’t looked back, and says that his biggest achievement is making his own choices and living his life on his own terms.

In Barcelona, as he switches seats at the table on the EPT for the first time, Moreau says he most wants to play against Daniel Negreanu. It could well happen…
