What is 'Boleto Bancário'?
'Boleto Bancário' is a popular, easy and safe way to transfer money in Brazil in your local currency. It works with a bar-coded invoice that can be used at any Brazilian bank. To make payment you simply present your bank with the invoice and funds, before the expiry date, and they will process the transfer. Please note that you can also use your internet banking to pay the invoice easily. The invoice makes for a hassle-and error-free way to transfer money.
How can I make purchases using 'Boleto Bancário'?
All you have to do is visit the “Make a Deposit” section of the Cashier, select 'Boleto Bancário' and click “Deposit” (if using the desktop client). On the 'Boleto Bancário' page, enter the amount you wish to deposit and click “Submit”. You will be redirected to a webpage, where you will need to fill in your Fiscal number (CPF). Once you have done so, you will be presented with a pre-filled invoice that you must print out and present at any bank, to complete the transfer. You can also make payment online. (Please see the 'Boleto Bancário' invoice for expiry date. After expiry, you will need a new invoice).
Currently the USD equivalent purchase limits for 'Boleto Bancário' are:
You can only make a maximum per transaction deposit request for $500. In other words to reach our maximum 24 hour limit of $600, you have to make multiple deposits.
- US $10 - minimum purchase
- US $600 - maximum amount to purchase within 24 hours
- US $1,500 - maximum amount to purchase within 7 days
- US $2,000 - maximum amount to purchase within 30 days
Please note that due to exchange rate fluctuations you may send an amount that is over or under the permissible minimum/maximum deposit. Therefore it is IMPORTANT to carefully consider exchange rate fluctuations when you make a transfer in your local currency.
Once we have received confirmation of the deposit, we will update your Stars Account balance accordingly. Please note that the confirmation can take up to 5 business days to arrive.
It is important that you visit the Cashier for each subsequent 'Boleto Bancário' deposit that you wish to make, in order to get a new Boleto invoice. You will NOT be able to reuse an invoice.
How does the exchange rate conversion work?

What will it cost me to use 'Boleto Bancário'?
