BOLD CONQUER (6) has made the right start to his career, placing on debut before winning a Mdn at Goulburn and beating Regor by a length. He stays on 1200m and the light weight gives him the strongest winning profile. Can continue to work through the grades. JIMMY'S READY (8) resumes after taking on Saturday company at Eagle Farm, and while that final run before the spell was plain, his better 1200m figures make him a genuine danger if he returns switched on. Watch for him flying late in the race. REGOR (2) was decisive as a well-supported favourite in a Mdn at Albury and has reliable 1200m form, though he meets Bold Conquer again after being beaten by him at Goulburn. Maps for a kind run though and can turn the tables. BOUND TO FIRE (9) was second at this venue first-up at big odds and is not to be discounted. KIRWANS BRIDGE (4) has claims first-up.

Comes through a dominant Mdn win at Albury, leading and holding a clear margin as a well-supported favourite to score by just over three lengths. The start prior he was favourite when second to Bold Conquer in a Mdn at Goulburn, beaten a length. Finished behind Bold Conquer on resumption and with a favourable set up on the quick turnaround, he can turn the tables.

    Verdict
Progressive gelding who has a win and a placing from two starts, backing up his debut third with a strong Mdn win at Goulburn over Regor. He travelled well, put the race away by a length and stays at a trip where he is one from one. His maiden form has been franked and he can continue to work through the grades.

Returns from a five-month break after finishing sixth in a Class 2 at Corowa, beaten five lengths without a clear excuse. His better reference is the Goulburn second beforehand, where he was beaten a head despite racing wide throughout. Can resume on a positive note.

Returns from a six-month break after ending last preparation with a ninth in a Class 2 at Wagga, beaten just over three lengths after a slow start. He had also been close enough in a Class 2 at Canberra when sixth on soft ground. Freshness is the query, but his best gives him a place chance.

    Verdict
Resumed with a sound second at this track, beaten just over three lengths by Defiance after being tightened shortly after the start and working home evenly. That was at 51.0, so the market had little expectation, and he is still winless from seven tries around 1200m despite three placings. Fitter for the fresh run behind a very lively type and he can go one better.

Worked into third at Moruya last start over 1010m on soft ground, though he was beaten just under five lengths after beginning slowly and settling well back. His previous Goulburn run was also only fair when sixth, beaten just under four lengths after lacking a closing burst. Looking to others.

    Verdict
Returns from a three-month break after finishing last in an Open at Eagle Farm in Saturday company, where he jumped awkwardly and made no impression at big odds. He had earlier been sixth at Moruya on soft ground after again beginning awkwardly. Has tackled some strong races in his career and he can fly home from the back of the pack.

Has finished seventh at all three runs this campaign, most recently in a BM58 at Cootamundra when beaten three and a half lengths after sitting handy. She was tightened at the start two back in another BM58 at Wagga, but was beaten seven and a half lengths. Not here.

Closed from well back for fourth at Moruya last start over 1010m on soft ground, but was still beaten just over five lengths after starting at long odds. Her previous BM50 run at Canberra had more merit, finishing sixth beaten just under three lengths after racing wide throughout. Happy to look elsewhere.

Second-up after finishing last in a Lockhart Trophy at picnic level, beaten just over eight lengths despite being near the top of an open market. Today is harder company than that meeting, although the weight relief is notable. Hard to recommend.
