Verdict

ALABAMA SHOWDOWN (4) won a Mdn at Goulburn as favourite before closing strongly for second to Youre Not The King at Hawkesbury. Collett sticks with him as he lines up here and he's progressing nicely this campaign. Finds a suitable race on his latest rating and can get back to winning ways. DUCK FOR COVER (5) has not quite delivered in two CL1 runs at Kembla, but last start he raced wide and was still only beaten just over three lengths. Coming back in trip is a big tick and a drop to country level also suits. Can run an improved race. COMMANDING BELLE (2) was plain at Kembla Grange, yet her Moruya fourth was much better after being held up and she has won twice around this trip. NIGHTS INFERNO (6) worked home strongly for third at Cootamundra and makes some appeal on the way he's tracking this campaign. ZOUKERINO (3) hasn't been far away his past couple and commands respect.

    Verdict
Comes through the strongest recent profile, backing up a Goulburn Mdn win over Spokesperson with a sound second at Hawkesbury, beaten just under two lengths by Youre Not The King. He finished strongly there at generous odds and has now placed at all three runs this campaign. Not far away in tougher last time and this looks a suitable race on the back of that performance.

    Verdict
Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing fifth in a Class 1 at Kembla, beaten just over three lengths, with the stewards noting he raced wide from the 700m. He had been favourite when fourth at the same venue two back, so the recent form is better than it first appears. Back to 1200m may hold the key and the booking of Boudvillain makes him an attractive proposition.

Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing last at Kembla Grange, beaten just over four lengths as big odds and with no clear excuse. Her previous Moruya fourth was much better, beaten a long neck after being held up on the home turn. Will find this easier and a forward showing is on the cards.

    Verdict
Hit the line strongly for third at Cootamundra last start, beaten a length and a half by Paparazzo after beginning only fairly and being steadied late. His first-up Moruya fourth in a BM58 on soft ground was less convincing, but he is third-up now and has two wins around 1200m. Building nicely and can put his best foot forward.

    Verdict
Has been close enough at his latest two, running third at Kembla Grange before a fourth at Illawarra Grange, beaten just under two lengths by Centimetre. He tracked the lead last start but did not finish it off, and his overall strike-rate remains a concern. Can play a role with a favourable set up.

Returns from a five-month break with a trial at Illawarra Grange last month, which gives some fitness context. His final run before the spell was an eighth at Grafton, beaten four and a half lengths, after racing keenly and being held up near the 300m. Looking to others.

Was safely held again at Hawkesbury last start, finishing seventh and beaten just under six lengths after settling rearward and producing only a moderate finish. The run prior was similar when second last, beaten five and a half lengths at long odds. Has to find far more.

    Verdict
Was bumped on jumping at Moruya last start but still finished seventh in a BM58, beaten five and a half lengths at long odds. Her previous Goulburn run in Class 2 company was similar, again seventh and well held after settling rearward. The claim helps, yet recent form is short of this.
