MicroMillions 2022 is now underway and the Main Event is drawing ever closer. To celebrate, PokerStars are running a very special MicroMillions Freeroll that will give away 500 ticket to the $22 Main Event. You don’t want to miss it. Read on for details and strategy advice…

MicroMillions Freeroll coming up

The buy-in for the MicroMillions Main Event is $22. Relatively speaking, it’s still a low stakes tournament, and many players will be happy to buy in directly to the $500k guaranteed event.

As MicroMillions is all about accessibility, we don’t want to leave any player hanging. Satellites are running to help you to potentially gain entry at a price that suits you. For the MicroMillions $22 Main Event, these satellites start at $0.27.

Along with the usual low cost satellites, PokerStars will also be running a very special MicroMillions Freeroll satellite on July 25 (14:00 ET).

The MicroMillions Freeroll has a prize pool of 500 tickets, each granting entry to the $22 Main Event ($11k in total prizes).

Everyone loves a freeroll. Why wouldn’t you? It’s real money poker, for free. No risk, maximum reward.

Take part, and you’ll have a decent chance of winning one of these tickets, granting you free access to one of the biggest low stakes online poker tourneys of the year.

So keep your eyes peeled and get ready for the MicroMillions Freeroll on PokerStars.

MicroMillions 2022

MicroMillions 2022 is running now until July 31, with 208 events on the schedule and over $4.3 million in guaranteed prizes to be paid out.

This is a series aimed at micro and low stakes players. Buy-ins start from $1.10, with the vast majority of tournaments costing $5.50 or less.

There are a few exceptions, including the $10 Saturday and Sunday Specials with $100k gtd, and the $55 High Roller with $200k gtd.

Of course, as with any series, all eyes will be on the Main Event, which is happening July 31:

  • MicroMillions 202 – $22 NLHE Main Event (PKO, 8-max) – $500k gtd

Take note of the guarantee – $500k in prizes. That’s a hefty sum considering the humble entry fee.

And with the upcoming MicroMillions Freeroll on July 25, you might not even have to cough up the $22.

MicroMillions Freeroll satellite strategy

If you’re planning on entering the MicroMillions Freeroll (which you should be), then you’ll want to give yourself the best possible chance of winning one of the 500 ticket on offer. Aside from your usual poker strategy, there are a few factors to consider to maximize your chances.

TIPS TO WIN BIG FROM FREEROLLS – First, this is a freeroll tournament. Players will not be ‘invested’ in the same way that they might be if they bought in with their own hard earned cash. This means certain adjustments can be useful, such as tightening your ranges and bluffing less.

TOP TIPS FOR PLAYING SATELLITES – Second, this is a satellite tournament. The top 500 win $22 tickets. Unlike normal poker tournaments, this means the prize pool is evenly spread among remaining players. The object is not to come first, but simply to ‘cash’.

FOUR STEP GUIDE TO MICROSTAKES – Finally, the satellite is for a microstakes tournament, so you can expect players of all skill levels to get involved. Sizing up opponents and adapting to wildly varying stack sizes will be key to your success.
