True Geordie and friends battle in $3K home game

In his super successful YouTube podcast, True Geordie–a.k.a. Brian Davis–tackles everything from hard-hitting interviews to football watch-alongs. But last week, he took on his most important subject yet…

Poker home games.

The True Geordie ‘Kick Off’ crew–which includes Davis, his co-host Laurence McKenna, plus fellow YouTubers and podcasters Rory Jennings, Lawrence Buvey, Elliot Hackney, and Adam McKola–got together to play a winner-takes-all sit & go with $3,000 going to the winner.

Eventually, Davis plans to host a series of live poker events in his London Studio, with a custom-built table, special celebrity guests, and live cards-up coverage for viewers. But for now, PokerStars Home Games is the venue.

Check out the YouTube highlights from their first game here:

True Geordie is no stranger to poker. You might remember that in the summer of 2020, Davis (who was very new to the game) jumped straight into the deep end by playing in a series of high stakes Stadium Series events, with his good friend and frequent podcast guest Charlie “Epiphany77” Carrel on the rail.

Davis did himself proud, cashing in a $5,200 event for $11,800.

The boys were back for another game last night (April 1) and streamed the whole thing on Twitch. You can watch that stream below.

Make sure you tune in to True Geordie on Twitch each week to watch the lads go to the war on the virtual poker felt.
