Leicester City – 18th

Season Review

The Foxes were relegated on the final day of the season despite victory and head into the Championship after nine years in the Premier League.

The Good

The appointment of Dean Smith somewhat steadied the Leicester City ship after a run of six losses and a draw, but it likely came too late. Despite losing three of his eight games in charge, it wasn't enough to turn the season around entirely.

The Bad

Things can't get much worse than relegation. With memories of the now legendary Premier League title in 2015/16 still fresh in the mind, they've likely been eclipsed by a torrid season at the foot of the table.

Star Player: Harvey Barnes

Harvey Barnes continued to improve year-on-year with 13 goals, only one behind Bukayo Saka. Retaining his services could be crucial to a successful 2023/24 campaign, but will he seek a new team?

Best Result: Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-4 Leicester City

With six games in quick succession in October, Leicester City seemed to be turning a corner under Brendan Rogers, typified by a thrilling 4-0 shutout over Wolves away from home.

Worst Result: Tottenham 6-2 Leicester City

By gameday seven, Leicester City were at the foot of the table with a single point, and this demolishing by Tottenham resigned the Foxes to further woe in the Premier League basement.

Next Season

Leicester City start their Championship campaign off in August and join 23 other teams in what is often considered one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. With the departure of high-profile players expected, Leicester will be looking to bounce straight back into the Premier League, but that will require a significant influx of experienced players at a reduced price.

Attention now turns to next season in the Premier League kicking off on August 12, and you can already find plenty of Outright markets at PokerStars Sports.
