Grand Final

Travel Diary: Sao Paulo

Kristy Arnett

After coming to Sao Paulo last year, I was more than excited to go again for the LAPT Grand Final. Equipped with my visa that I went through a hellish ordeal to obtain last year, that included a last-minute solo trip to New York to track down my passport, I boarded a plane, with leggy Carnival samba experts dancing in my head. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a woman holding an LAPT sign, and she offered me a water as we walked to my personal driver who would take me to the hotel. Hospitality by Brazilian people is something I'd become familiar with last year, and I was sure this time around, I could expect more of the same.
