Very open race. WALLENDA (3) has been his own worst enemy this prep, missing the start on both occasions. Flew home to miss by a lip when resuming over 1100m then stepped up to this distance last time and couldn't run on as well after meeting with interference. Freshened up and good enough to test this field. ZULFIQAR (4) has been in fine form of late in similar races to this, winning here two back then making a late charge to miss by under a length last time. Nicely drawn and should prove hard to hold out again. SOVEREIGN HILL (7) is the query runner first-up from a 191-day spell for Waterhouse/Bott. Was competitive against some smart types in his two-year-old season but then had a year off the scene and didn't fire in two runs last Winter. Any market confidence must be respected. Veteran MYSTERY LAD (6) is racing well in good quality country sprints. Big chance with the light weight. FINE VINTAGE (2) is yet to miss the frame in four runs at this stage of the prep. Include.
