GOLDEN SPIRIT (8) was beaten by a nose on debut at Gore nearly 4 weeks ago on a heavy track, and probably should have won that day. A firmer surface won't be an issue, and the extra 100m can make all the difference second up. On top for us. ASSEMBLE (9) was a nose back from her stablemate and top pick in the same race when also making her debut. She, too, has the scope to win this and then go on with it. FAST LIKE THUNDER (3) was less than a length from the winner when finishing third on debut at Ascot Park 5 weeks ago. He is in good hands and won't be in maiden company for much longer. BAKERS DOZEN (7) showed potential at the trials when trained in the North Island, and is not to be taken lightly in her local debut. Use the market as the best guide. PERCIVAL (1) was put aside for a long spell after finishing sixth in his only run to date. He is locally trained, and is worth including in all top 4 combos at a price.
