We hate to admit it, but we’re probably all a bit guilty of overlooking mixed-game tournaments in favour of No Limit Texas Hold’em events.
You see, If a player managed to cut through low buy-in, large field events in NLHE like Antanas “Nr1InEurope” Bakaitis seems to with ease in mixed games, that player would be considered a low stakes legend.
Well, take a bow, Bakaitis, you legend. You’ve done it again.
Last week Bakaitis won the first low tier mixed-game event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) 2020, the $22 #6-L 8-Game. To do so he outlasted 4,039 total entries (2,980 unique, 1,059 re-entries) to win $7,825 following a five-handed deal on the final table.
This marks his second SCOOP title, with his first came back in 2016 when he took down the #48-L $27 Stud event for $4,400.
But his impressive mixed game CV doesn’t end there. Bakaitis also has a Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) title under his belt as he won a $27 Stud event for $6,710 back in 2015, and in January of this year, he became a MicroMillions champion after winning a $3.30 HORSE PKO title for $1,308.

Antanas Bakaitis: a towering talent in mixed games
“All of my achievements are in mixed games,” he says. “What can I say? I’m no good at Texas Hold’em!”
The 48-year-old grew up in Kaunas, Lithuania but has lived in Ireland for the past 14 years. You can expect to see him playing most of the lower buy-in mixed game events throughout the rest of SCOOP.
“This tournament, as usual, was very up and down,” says Bakaitis. “I had some luck when we were down to 18 left. I feel very, very happy to my second SCOOP title, it’s an amazing feeling.
“I look forward to playing more poker in future, winning this really helps my bankroll.”
If PokerStars keeps running ’em, you can bet Bakaitis will keep winning ’em.
