So it turns out that Daniel Negreanu banked another win to start August. That deep run in the WSOP Main Event turned out to be a good warm up.
It came in an exclusive party at the Real Sports Bar and Grill in Toronto last weekend, a Celebrity Charity tournament that raised $50,000 for the Right to Play charity. Needless to say Kid Poker won it, donating to the $20,000 prize money the cause.
It was the latest VIP Club Live event, dubbed Daniel’s Summer Party. After all Toronto is his manor. Some 800 PokerStars players and guests attended the event, rubbing shoulders with poker players and celebrities in a typically flamboyant night.

Negreanu may have been coming off the back of an exhausting July (as well as the WSOP he reached the final table of the WPT National Championship) but he was the usual KidPoker familiar to everyone, completing a host of media interviews and giving ten lucky VIP winners and their guests a personal welcome and a night they’ll never forget.
EPT Hosts James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton were also on hand to keep the crowds entertained and introduced the line-up for a $50,000 Charity Celebrity Tournament. It was an all-star one, featuring included nationally syndicated sports radio host Bob McCown, former World Series of Baseball champion Gregg Zaun, current NHL star Phil Kessel, Negreanu himself, and one VIP randomly selected from the crowd: Emil Kamel. Thrilled with the opportunity, Emil took a seat with the celebs and held his own, finishing runner-up to Daniel. Daniel ultimately won the event and $20,000 for Right To Play.
Yep, we know what you’re thinking. When’s the next one of these? Next up for VIP Club: Live is Athens, Greece, on September 5th. Get all the details on the VIP Club homepage.
