ROYAL FLARE (2) was a very good winner on debut here over 1200m, sitting wide throughout but coming right away on the heavy ground to score convincingly in good time. 1400m should be no issue off that and while this is a fair bit harder, he should improve off that and measure up. SHYSTAR (12) resumed with a narrow maiden win as favourite at Geelong and should be fitter for it. Before a spell she ran third to subsequent G1 winner Ole Dancer. She gets in on the minimum here and has strong claims. TEN WARRIORS (4) was a horror watch first up at Geelong, well backed as $2.30 favourite but getting shuffled right back in the run, held up and then charging late for second. He's still a maiden in a Class 3 but the ability is there and he can atone. PUGLIA (9) got the maiden out of the way last time and might be able to go on with it. GOLDEN SPRITZ (1) won the Ten Warriors race up on speed and has to be considered again.
