NOBLE RUBY (7) has been beaten in the four to five length range at her last couple in strong provincial maidens - seven winners have emerged from those two contests. Meets a moderate field here and from gate two she gets every chance to open her account. THE ROOKIE (12) is back after a seven-month absence. Raced twice last prep and struggled to compete at provincial level. In a new stable and will find this far easier so it will be no surprise to see her in the finish. HELIOPHILE (5) made late inroads but was never a chance at his only run to date over 1012m here back in September. Should derive great benefit from that outing and can acquit himself well in this plain affair. CASA MIA (9) won a trial here recently and finds a nice race to make her debut. IN BOCCA AL LUPE (4) is another first starter who showed enough in his only trial to suggest he can be competitive.
