VICIOUS RUMOUR (8) chalked up her fourth career minor placing when runner-up over 1100m at Bathurst three weeks ago. This trip is probably as far as she needs but it is likely the mare gets a soft lead here. In a race smashed by scratchings she can get away with this. BLACK NATURE (5) ran on nicely to fill a minor placing at Gilgandra last start and will appreciate the extra furlong this afternoon. Lightly raced four-year-old mare who is open to plenty of further improvement. MR BAZZA (7) got too far back but did run on with purpose to get up for second last time out over 1200m at Tamworth. This step up in distance and the small field make this a more attractive race. Definite contender. CODONAS (2) found 1000m a bit slick when resuming last start. Will be far more effective over today's journey with that run under the belt. Market watch on the sparingly raced CASTRO (1) first-up from a 20-week spell.
