The $300,000 Buffering. TAVS (7) was a touch flat at the latest outing but the two wins to start the campaign were impressive. Is yet to taste defeat in four starts over this track and trip and should be right there at the business end. ROCKRIBBED (6) goes well for hoop Maloney who has three wins and a placing from just five steers. High on confidence following back-to-back victories and another strong showing would not surprise. Old boy ROTHFIRE (2) is showing he still has some miles in his legs and has a bit of class over this field. Should be involved in the finish. The very well-related NEED SOME LUCK (8) (half to 6xG1 winner Chautauqua) may have suffered from the dreaded second-up syndrome last time out but the form prior was sound. Worth another chance. ROBUSTO (1) placed at Group 3 level last time and shouldn't be taken lightly.
