CHEVAL DE BOIS (6) was crunched from $1.65 to $1.45 and gave backers no cause for alarm last start over the mile at Scone, cruising to victory at just his second race start. Has a tricky draw to contend with but there is plenty of untapped talent there - stick with him. BALLPARK (4) led from barrier rise to win his maiden last time out over 1400m at Kembla, also at his second appearance. Had plenty in reserve that day so the extra 200m should hold no fears. Can win again. LONGINUS (8) led for home but gave up very easily over 1400m at Kembla at his latest outing. Better than that and deserves another chance. Lightly raced five-year-old mare CRIMSON MISS (5) did her best work late to grab a minor placing when fresh from a spell over 1300m at Hawkesbury recently. Looks ready to tackle this trip. ENERGETIC LEGEND (3) wasn't far away at Kembla last time, his first run for 37 days. Fitter and can improve.
