Jabez Johnstone has two minor placings when riding keeps the ride, and the pair merits healthy respect. ARGYLL DIAMOND (9) has been consistent this prep with three placings from four starts, including a last-start second over 1200m at this track. He is well placed to go one better. CARDIOSPHERE (1) finished sixth, just over a length away from the winner, over 1100m here last time out and looks well suited here after a 3kg claim. He cops a wide gate, but can still figure in the top 4. SH'BOURNE RISING (13) impressed on debut at Launceston, closing strongly to finish not far from the winner in fourth place. A wide gate is no help, but with Froggy Newitt in the irons, she is worth keeping safe. MONCLERE (6) has been racing consistently with 3 third-place finishes in a row. Another honest run is expected.
