TORPEDOES (8) is a North Pacific gelding on debut for the Hickmott yard and has shown plenty of ability in his lead-up work. Drawn perfectly for Pannell, a bright start is anticipated. ACT NATURAL (1) continues to chase the elusive maiden win but has been honest, hitting the frame in all 10 starts. Doesn’t need to improve much to finally break through. REGAL RIPPER (6) was good on debut but not as effective last time when sent out favourite. Can bounce back here with Opperman booked. LIGHT THE NIGHT (4) caught the eye first-up at headquarters before failing to fire here at the latest. Freshened with a month between runs and should be launching late. I AM OLE (13) needs a scratching to gain a start but trialled well in blinkers ahead of this prep. Blinkers go on for the first time race day and wary of sharp improvement at massive odds.
