GOLDEN KATHLEEN (2) has been running on late in her last couple of runs at Ascot, finishing fifth there 17 days ago. She slides down in class for this assignment, and her 3kg claim will offset her weight rise. With some luck from a tricky gate, she can take this out. RANYX (3) flew late to just miss out on winning at Ascot last time out over 1200m. The extra 200m will help here, as will having Chris Parnham in the irons for the first time. He is nicely poised to have the last say here, and his chances will soar if the track is wet. SHOOTING SPIRIT (1) has needed all 3 starts back from a spell, and even though he has had a query over 1400m in the past, he is stronger now, and can put his best hoof forward. Each way value. MANJERI (4) will find this easier than his last 3 starts, and he may even try to lead this field early on. Don't drop him yet. AZENA (8) needed the run here last start, and she will get a nice swing in her draw this time. She is peaking third up, and can run top 3.
