Looks set for a good prep and can repeat the effort in this harder contest with winning apprentice keeping the ride. MIDNIGHT OPAL (10) has struggled all prep and expect to see his go forward today from the inside gate. Raced well at this level last time in and drops in grade here. Each way. COOL JAKEY (1) distance specialist with an exceptional second-up record. Charged late over the unsuitable trip on resumption when fifth over 1100m at this track. Can get across from the wide gate and stalk the speed. One of the main contenders. MICKEY'S MEDAL (8) had to be used up early to hold a position from the wide gate before tiring late when fifth over 1400m at this track. Tested again from the draw but not to be overlooked. SUNSHINEINMYPOCKET (9) failed to hold an early position and got further back than anticipated when seventh over 1400m here in a BM100. Stays in the mix.
