COUNT NICHOLAS (7) led and gave a great sight under a big weight but just failed to cling on last start over 1540m on the poly track. Steps up to open company but drops a massive 9.5 kg after Youngberry's claim. Coming back to 1400m is another positive so this sets up beautifully. LADY SHOTGUN (8) has hit the line with gusto in her two appearances this prep, the latest a narrow defeat over 1150m on the poly. Has a strong third-up record and is a three-time winner at this distance so there is improvement to come. THINKHARDANDFAST (6) returns from a four-month spell for a new stable. Didn't come up last prep but her form late last year reads well. Likes it further but while fresh is a definite threat. Stablemate ARCHER'S GAME (4) returned from a spell with a tidy win over this trip at the Sunshine Coast recently. Has a fine second-up record so expect the veteran mare to hold her form. FLYING BAT (10) returned to form last start. Coming back in trip is the concern.
